- Ahead of the EU-Ukraine summit in Kyiv on 3 February, MEPs will discuss how the EU can further support Ukraine in fighting against the Russian invasion.
At the Kyiv summit, EU and Ukrainian leaders are expected to discuss continued financial and military support for the country as well as the next steps regarding Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union.
In January, MEPs called on the EU and its member states to increase their military, political and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and strengthen their defence in countering Russian threats to European security. During the same plenary session, they again insisted that a special international tribunal should be established to punish crimes committed by Russian leaders and forces in Ukraine.
The plenary debate will take place on Thursday, followed by a vote on a resolution the same day.

- Description
- 27 January is a day of remembrance for the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism.
Parliament marks this day with an annual ceremony.
Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, will open the ceremony which will be followed by a video and a musical interlude by Jenő Lisztes.
Israel’s President Isaac Herzog will then address the plenary.
The commemoration concludes with a minute of silence and a performance.
The International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust on 27 January was established by the United Nations in 2005 to honour the Holocaust and the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
