The corridors were like the ones you'd find in an airport terminal that seemingly stretched on for miles.

But the only difference here was that no one else was about. It was like Jamie was the only player on a video game server, deathly quiet for what he was expecting at the NEC, even if it was a Friday night.

Even the horizontal escalators sat motionless and unmoving on the floor.

But after 10 minutes or so, the distant echo of voices and music began reaching me.

Description: The Roman fort was built in 48AD on Icknield Street, also known as Ryknild Street.
2000 years ago, Icknield Street stretched from Fosse Way, another Roman road, at Bourton-on the-Water in Gloucestershire and ran for 112 miles up to Templeborough in Yorkshire, passing Birmingham along its way.
