Officers were called after a suspect was spotted climbing across the top of several houses in Selly Oak.
Two fire engines were parked nearby while police officers kept their distance as debris rains down next to them during the rooftop siege at around 4pm on Monday, March 16.
West Midlands Police said a man was later arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, exposure and assault following the incident, which happened near Selly Oak railway station.

Javonnie Tavener, 23, was given a jail term of three years and ten months for causing the death of Mayar Yahia, four, and seriously injuring her mum Sara and a neighbour in the horror crash.

He was given an additional 18 months in jail for a separate violent attack weeks later. He was also banned from driving for six years.

It means he could be out of jail by 2028 and back driving soon after.

There were shouts of "let them in" and "you're an absolute disgrace." A few supporters were able to get through before the force of numbers told and many more fans burst through. But the staff responded by shutting the gate, leaving dozens on the other side despite them holding tickets and having already cleared initial entry barriers.
