Nosheen Khalid, 39, is a Muslim woman who wears a hijab, and has received insulting and threatening messages while campaigning. Worryingly, she is not the only one.

Hate crime is any criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a personal characteristic. You can report hate crime by calling 101 or in an emergency call 999. You can also go to your local police station or a hate crime reporting centre.

"We are working with emergency partners and as a precaution, passengers have been evacuated from this area only."

The thieves arrived on two mopeds, with two more on foot, at Water Orton Road in Castle Bromwich on Saturday, March 28. They stole a Yamaha 900 tracer motorbike, registration number AY68 YRP, parked on the driveway.

The owner, Gary Smith, is a rapid blood biker who uses his motorbike to transport urgent blood supplies. He was away but watched the raid unfold on his phone, which had sent him an alert.
