Baffled drivers found themselves headed in the wrong direction after refurbishment works were carried out at the Poppy Island roundabout in Shirley earlier this month.
Motorists using the A34 to head towards Hall Green found it had suddenly vanished and they were on their way to Olton instead.
SMBC identified the issue on Poppy Island Roundabout on Monday 9 March with contractors removing the incorrect markings on 16 March.

This young Birmingham City fan is still missing as fellow football supporters help search for him.

Paul Pike, from Kings Heath, had travelled to watch the Blues play Derby County in the Championship on Saturday, March 21.

Paul, who has ADHD and is autistic, was last seen in a Sergio Tacchino tracksuit top, which is grey on the top and black on the bottom.

He was also wearing a Burberry patterned baseball cap, a navy blue polo shirt and blue jeans.

The teenager was described as white, around 6ft 1ins tall and of a slim build with short dark brown hair and a beard.

Anyone who can assist police with knowledge of Paul's whereabouts should call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101, quoting the reference 1095 of 24 March.

Paul Pike, from Kings Heath, had travelled to watch the Blues play Derby County in the Championship on Saturday, March 21.

The 18-year-old, who has ADHD and autism, was last seen at East Midlands Railway headquarters at Pride Park, Derby.

An appeal has been issued, and any sightings or CCTV from the Pride Park/railway area are vital.

Erdington's historic Lad in the Lane pub, which closed permanently in 2019, has spent the past six years in a worsening state of disrepair. A blaze broke out at the former Bromford Lane Grade II listed boozer in 2024.
The pub dates back to around 1400 and could lay claim to being the city’s oldest public house, alongside The Old Crown in Digbeth.
The building's owner has now started work at the derelict site to fix its leaking roof in a bid to "prevent further damage".
