Description: tA Birmingham man has opened up over his 'painful' symptoms of Tourette's - detailing the lengths he sometimes has to go to 'restrict his movements.'

Ed Palmer, 34, from south Birmingham, was formally diagnosed with Tourette's when he was 14 years old, but first started experiencing signs of the condition at the age of four.

Tourette's syndrome is a condition which can cause you to make sudden, repetitive sounds of movements. There is currently no cure, but treatment can help to manage the tics, according to the NHS.

Now aged 32 and living in Edgbaston, she said she initially took the prescribed number of opioids a day but thought she'd found the 'key to life' as they also helped her care less about other people's judgements.

Jade Harwood's eleven-year-old husky, Oleg, was left to become severely underweight in her squalid home filled with litter and debris.

RSPCA officers found Oleg covered in fleas inside the 38-year-old's cluttered and mouldy address in Tarrington Covert, Kings Norton.

The animal welfare charity had been called out to her home repeatedly after receiving reports that Oleg was living in unsanitary conditions.

The pooch was seized by police and later taken to RSPCA Birmingham Animal Hospital for treatment.

Description: A 'sprightly' Kingstanding mum died after failings in her care at Good Hope Hospital while resident doctors were on strike, an inquest heard.

Much-loved Geraldine Miles, a mum-of-five known to most as 'Dina', had been living independently, cooking, shopping and driving before she admitted herself to hospital with diarrhoea on November 7.

After investigations, the 84-year-old was deemed medically fit and sent home on November 17. However, under-pressure medics had failed to act on the 'very basic' problem sitting on her record for four days.

Description: Sir Keir Starmer has delivered a make-or-break speech in an attempt to avert a leadership challenge after a disastrous set of local election results. The Prime Minister appeared before the country at 10am on Monday, 11 May.

The Prime Minister is trying to convince Labour Party MPs to back him after Thursday’s election losses. At 12.30pm, one of Starmer's biggest rivals for leadership, Angela Rayner, the former deputy PM, is due to speak at the CWU conference in Bournemouth.

Around lunchtime, Catherine West, the former minister, is expected to give her response to the Starmer speech. If she is not persuaded he can turn things around, she will formally start the process of trying to get the 81 names she needs to launch a leadership challenge.

On Sunday, Josh Simons, the former Cabinet Office minister, became the latest Labour MP to call for Starmer to quit.
