Sandwell is one of the most deprived parts of England, and this means locals are more likely to have unhealthy lifestyles, contributing to health issues earlier in life than the national average.

Dr Jamie O’Halloran, senior research fellow at IPPR, said: "Figures show that where you live determines how many years you spend in good health - and that gap isn't closing."

Description: Watch a man confront car key robbers - one of whom is from Birmingham - in his own home, telling them to 'go away' as they take his Mercedes from his drive.

The gang of three were responsible for 10 car key burglaries in February and March last year. The break-ins took place in Bromsgrove and Lickey in Worcestershire, on the Birmingham border, as well as Earlswood in Warwickshire, and addresses in Staffordshire and Northamptonshire.

Once they had stolen keys, they would steal and move on the vehicles – often high-value motors such as BMWs, Mercedes and Audis - while travelling around in a Volkswagen Golf R which was on false or cloned number plates.

Video footage shows the group, believed to be called ‘People Against Genocide’, in masks and with spray paint as they vandalised the face of the Colmore Building, a high-rise office development on Colmore Circus, as reported by NeedToKnow. It happened on Tuesday, February 24 and the target was Chubb Insurance, which operates inside the building. The company has been targeted by the group repeatedly due to its links with Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems.
