An accomplishment by all four of its high schools. (Amarillo HS & Caprock HS & Palo Duro HS and Tascosa HS.)
“For the first time since the inception of the state’s A-F accountability system since 2013, all four of AISD’s traditional high schools earned an A rating,” said Deidre Parish, superintendent at Amarillo Independent School District. “Overall, the district grew by two percentage points over the last year to reach an 85.”
“As a parent of AISD and has three kids that actually graduated from AISD schools, it’s a fantastic achievement for the district and for all four high schools,” said Paul Allen, parent of current and former AISD students.
The increase in scores can be attributed to a shift, one that focuses on all students across the district.

Environmental advocates have been raising those concerns and asking for developers to include the communities in the process.
"It's not a question of can these facilities impact local water resources. The question is, how do we manage that?” West Virginia Rivers Coalition Senior Scientist Nathaniel Hitt said. “And are we going to include the local communities who know best?"
Ten data center facilities have already been proposed in West Virginia.
"We've seen this story before so many times companies come here and they extract resources, and then when the markets change or the resources are gone, so are the companies,” Hitt said.

Farwell recently had to issue Stage 3 Water Restrictions for all residents inside the city.
“The city council elected to make it where you can’t water outside period, no plants, no lawns, no gardens, just due to the fact that the water level here was so low,” said Larry Kelsay, police chief for Farwell.
“The lack of rain has been very hard on everybody: our school, the community, our farmers are dairies are feedlots,” said Colby Waldrop, superintendent at Farwell ISD. “It has been really hard because it’s been, oh gosh, probably three or four months since we’ve had a good rain, probably longer than that honestly.”

Police and EMS responded around 1:50–1:51 p.m. to an apartment after a report of an unresponsive woman. An acquaintance or friend made the 911 call. Dispatch described an apparent cardiac arrest and, in a separate transmission, a possible overdose; the latter was not an established cause of death. Paramedics attempted advanced cardiac life support, and Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
Police said the preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. The case remained under investigation with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, an autopsy was planned, and no official cause of death had been announced.
