- Binghamton's annual LUMA Projection Festival takes place on September 8-9.
Using powerful projectors and 3D animation, organizers create an illusion that transforms the appearance of enormous structures. For example, city hall turns into a gingerbread house, and the courthouse becomes Stonehenge. The light overpowers the architecture and the effect seems real.
One of the creators and organizers, Joshua Ludzki, spoke with WSKG Midday Classics host Bill Snyder. They talk about how this merging of architecture and technology turns Binghamton into an outdoor art gallery that can attract thousands of people.

- In a concert commemorating the historic Zoellner Quartet, Hyde Hall in Glimmerglass State Park will host the Musicians of Ma'alwyck. Their performance takes place Sunday evening, September 10 near Cooperstown.
From 1912 to 1925, The Zoellner Quartet toured the United States and Canada. They rarely went a day without a performance; visiting major venues, mining settlements and Native American nations. Among their friends were Albert Einstein and Helen Keller.
The Hyde Hall concert is the brainchild of Dr. Christopher Brellochs, who chairs the Music Department of SUNY-Schenectady, and serves as a music consultant for the HBO series The Gilded Age.
Brellochs joins WSKG host Bill Snyder, along with Lady Alexandra Foley, the grand-daughter of the quartet’s founder, and violinist Ann Marie Barker Schwartz, who leads the Musicians at Ma'alwyck.
