Tracy Lee Stum of Ventura is an internationally-acclaimed street artist who is known as one of the world’s top 3D street painters. She has travelled to street fairs and art festivals both locally and internationally (including India, Dubai, Tunisia, Hong Kong, Russia) Her first book, "The Art of Chalk," is scheduled for release on May 15th. Published by Quarto US, the book features the works of about 50 chalk and street artists like Tracy. Tracy will be at the Madonnari festival on May 28, 29 and 30 at the Santa Barbara Mission. Madonnari, or street painters, transform the Mission plaza using pastels on pavement to create 150 vibrant and colorful, large scale images. The festival benefits the Children's Creative Project, a nonprofit arts education program of the Santa Barbara County Education Office. The Project serves 50,000 children in more than 100 schools with visual and performing arts workshops and performances throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

California Air National Guard 146th Airlift Wing at Point Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station started Wildfire training. The 146th Airlift Wing, located at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station is a combat ready organization prepared to support U.S. and allied forces in the event of a national military contingency. The aircraft can also be used for large scale aerial fire fighting with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS). The 146th AW is currently the only organization in the world implementing the new MAFFS 2 units on the C-130J platform, making it a highly capable and valuable resource in the fire fighting industry.
