- Lok Sabha on Tuesday (March 24) passed the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, by voice vote, after the opposition staged a walkout in protest against the proposed legislation not being sent to a select committee. The Bill was passed after a discussion that lasted only about two and a half hours. While opposition members demanded it be sent to a parliamentary committee, not passed in haste, Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju made it clear that the Bill needed to be passed on Tuesday itself.

- On March 24, CPI(M) organised a 'Jan Aakrosh Rally' at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan. Party workers from different states participated in the rally, including labour union members, Anganwadi workers, and ASHA workers in large numbers.
Senior CPI(M) leaders were present at the rally, including General Secretary M.A. Baby, along with other Politburo members, and workers' unions.
The key demands raised at the rally included rising inflation, shortages of LPG and other fuels, issues faced by farmers and workers, a review of the India–US trade deal, the withdrawal of the new labour codes, and the restoration of MGNREGA.
A large number of women from different states also participated, including "Asha" workers, "Anganwadi workers" staff and daily wage workers.
