- On May 15th, 2014 the New York Fed convened business organization leaders and regional policymakers for "Filling the Gaps: Summit on Small Business Credit Innovations," a summit on how to maximize opportunities from credit innovations and minimize risk. Summit speakers featured non-bank lenders like LendingClub (peer-to-peer lending), PayPal (e-commerce lender) and CAN Capital (largest merchant cash advance funder), along with traditional lenders like American Express and JPMorgan Chase.

- The Federal Reserve Bank of New York hosted a press briefing entitled, "Regional Labor Market," on May 21, 2014.
The presentation provided an update on the jobs recovery in the region, and discussed how recent employment gains have been concentrated in lower and higher skilled sectors, while the share of workers in the middle-skilled jobs has continued to shrink.
The briefing also included an update on local economic conditions from staff economists. New York Fed President William C. Dudley offered remarks about national and regional economic conditions. President Dudley and New York Fed staff answered questions after the presentations.
