The unreserved, barely-coded racism and hate is overwhelming, all-encompassing, and on full public display. (“It's Only Been Two Weeks; Feels Like Two Decades,” Feb. 3, 2025).
Trump 2.0 is already exceeding every expectation we had and not in a good way. Elon Musk. USAID. Gaza. Tariffs. DEI. Greenland. Panama Canal. Grants. Employee Buyouts. Access to Treasury Department Data. Transgender Student Athletes. Department of Education. CIA Names. This is just the beginning. How do we explain his rise and resurgence? This week’s guest on the #NYTReadalong, Nirmal Ghosh, will provide some answers. He’s the author of “Backlash: Donald Trump and the Remaking of America.” Neil Parekh will be the guest host.
