- Thousands of Rwandans on Friday, December 25 graced Churches and Cathedrals in different parts of the country to celebrate Christmas day.
For this year’s prayer gatherings, a number of places of worship hosted both physical and online congregations, a move partly meant to allow those who may not have managed to secure a seat in the church due to social distancing measures to have a chance to follow the service virtually.
In places that The New Times visited on the day, the faithful prayed showcasing their gratitude to God for the Gift of His Son Jesus the savior whom he sent to the world to save humanity, and his unshakeable love showcased to all, despite the challenges the world has got acquainted with in 2020.

- Raised in a Christian family, church became second home for James Rubibi. The more he attended the church service, the more he realised he had a singing talent, and to express it he joined the church choir.
At a later age, he thought about pursuing music studies to build on his career. It is in that regard; he attended an arts school out of the country.
Nicknamed Jazy James, he graduated with flying colors and returned to Rwanda where he resumed his music.
“Love is crucial for everyone, the old and young, rich and poor, everyone. It is also the root of all kindness, hence we need to sing about it more”, he explains.

Unlike secondary school students who are regarded as grown-ups and may easily adapt to observing Covid-19 preventive guidelines, concerns arose on whether nursery and primary students will cope with the new normal.
