- To be a musician in the modern era, you have to stay on your toes, releasing song after song, to remain relevant and to keep your fan’s expectations met.
With many upcoming musicians getting on the musical scene almost on a daily basis, the pressure on already established artistes is real. Remember Rihanna and the push by her fans to give them a new album?
Well, Rihanna is not the only artiste that finds herself in such a tight position, always working to satisfy the demands of the fans. It can be truly depressing for musicians going through this phase but for how long can they sustain this pressure?
Unless you choose to do things your own way, chances are you will forever succumb to the demands of your fanbase and cease to focus on you and that can be a recipe for disaster. At the end of the day, musicians have lives too. Right?
Such is the case for Shanel Nirere, one of t...

- In 2016, at the age of 25, Elyse Ihirwe was involved in a nasty car accident which left her face scarred and her confidence dented. Other parts of the body including her legs were equally affected.
She was hospitalized for four months and it took her a whole one year to recover from the trauma the accident caused.
For a young woman with her whole future still ahead of her, Ihirwe felt hard done by the accident, which affected her appearance as well as self-esteem. It is a struggle most people who survive accidents go through.
While Ihirwe, now 31, was able to heal, it took her a while to come to terms with her new face, which now had patches while her eye, which she nearly lost in the accident, had to be reconstructed.
Ihirwe tried out several products and treatments to get rid of the scars, which made her uncomfortable and often reminded her of the nasty accident which claimed her life.
Her story is one of venturing out ...

- Like his name suggests, he was treasured because he was the eighth child of his mother, who had eight kids with about three different husbands. When he showed up, like the treasured boy his mum was looking for, he was named ‘Treasure’.
However, life was not as treasurable as his name suggested. He was born in a poor household where even dreaming to be a chef in top hotels around the world was a wild dream.
“We didn't have much when I was growing up, we were poor and my dream job was to actually be a footballer,” says Makwanise who says that up to now he is still athletic and plays football once in a while.
He also thought of being a security agent whenever he saw how tough presidential guards were, but also with his love for music, he thought he would be a disc jockey by nature. Never did he at one time see himself as a chef.

To live and thrive in China, more so when you are a foreigner, you need to be at the same pace of doing things like the Chinese, or at least have the same mind-set.
It is that mind-set that has enabled the Asian country to become the world’s largest economy manufacturer, merchandise trader, and holder of foreign exchange reserves.
