- You won’t need to embark on a long, complicated journey — an odyssey, if you will — to watch Christopher Nolan’s latest film the way it was intended.
Brenden Theatres at the Palms is one of just 25 places in the country where movie fans will be able to see “The Odyssey — The IMAX 70mm Experience.”
“The Odyssey,” based on the ancient Greek text attributed to the poet Homer, is the first feature film to be shot entirely in the IMAX format. The cameras are so large and noisy, they’re typically used only to capture big action sequences.
IMAX 70mm presentations can display up to 40 percent more of the movie’s picture than regular formats, making them the only way for audiences to see the film exactly the way Nolan visualized.

Since 1993, the TI’s primary venue has been the Mystère Theater for the ongoing Cirque du Soleil show, but it will be renamed when Perez & Co. run the room. “Mystère” will continue its usual, nearly sold-out schedule.
The first night is no cover, all ages. Tickets will then start at $25, including fees; go to treasureisland.com for intel.

High Steaks Vegas, on the 50th floor of the Rio, will host viewing parties for each date (except June 20), from 7 to 10 p.m.
Each event will feature live music from Las Vegas performers. The fireworks shows begin at 9 p.m. and can be viewed from High Steaks on June 6, 13 and 27 and July 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Entry is complimentary, and guests can enjoy cocktails on the patio in collaboration with mixologist Adam Rains. The menu features spirits from the Rémy Cointreau and Cinzano Vermouth portfolios.
