Officers responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles. One driver was found to be driving under the influence and was also found to be in possession of a firearm. That driver was arrested.

- Authorities were made aware of a submerged pickup truck in the Beaver Slough at Blossom Road, by a fisherman who spotted the vehicle's outline on his fishfinder.
The DART team and Central Valley Tow arrived at the site around 10:30 Friday morning and began working to extract the truck from the waterway.
The DART team had to make three dives; each time they connected to tow cable to the truck, pieces of the truck would pull apart due to deterioration.
Eventually the tuck was successfully extracted from the slough. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied. It was determined that the vehicle had been in the slough for 21 years.
No one was injured during the operation.

On June 2, 2022, just after 6:20 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Lampasas Avenue and Edgewater Road for a report of multiple gunshots that were heard in the area. When officers arrived on scene, they located one male adult victim with at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. This incident appears to have occurred at an encampment that was occupied by numerous people experiencing homelessness. This investigation remains in its early stages and the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. this morning, officers responded to the 4100 block of Florin Perkins Rd for a report of a subject possibly breaking into a vehicle. Officers detained three suspects at the scene and observed evidence that the suspects were stealing a catalytic converter from a nearby vehicle. The three suspects were arrested for theft and vandalism charges.
As of May 24, there were 399 reported catalytic converter thefts. This compares to 660 year-to-date in 2021, 433 YTD in 2020, and 126 YTD in 2019.

- On May 23, 2022, at approximately 10:55 PM, the Citrus Heights Police Department received numerous 911 calls regarding reports of shots fired in the area of 6000 block of Birdcage Street in the City of Citrus Heights.
CHPD officers quickly arrived and located a male subject suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the walkway of an apartment complex. The 20-year-old male subject was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Officers then located an additional male subject with multiple gunshot wounds inside a nearby apartment. That 20-year-old subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 6000 block of Birdcage Lane was closed off for several hours while Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene.

After the collision, the semi crashed through a fence and overturned onto the railroad tracks.
Union Pacific has since been notified of the incident.

When Engine 4 arrived, they found a transient related debris fire including a shopping cart, which caught the vegetation on fire. The fire extended into the field area and ran up the embankment to US 50, catching palm trees on fire and causing a traffic hazard with smoke blowing across the highway.
Crews quickly got a handle on the blaze. Engine 6 was called out to assist with water shuttling.
At the time of this posting, crews are in mop-up phase, making sure the fire is completely extinguished.

- Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sacramento Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call about a possible dead body in the area of 5117 Southwest Ave.
When they arrived on scene they located the person laying on the sidewalk.
Minutes later, deputies came on the radio and said they were able to get a slight pulse and requested fire crews to respond immediately.
The fire department arrived but cleared the scene about five minutes later. No one was transported to the hospital.
At the time, deputies did not confirm that the person had died, but an active crime scene was established.
According to radio traffic, this may have been related to a Shotspotter activation in the area that occurred about thirty minutes before the body was found.
A neighbor who lives nearby told PSN he heard what sounded like gunshots around the same time.

- Just before 4 a.m. Thursday, Engine 4 of the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fence fire in the area of 28th and T Streets. When the crew arrived on scene and located the fence fire, in the 2700 block of T Street, the fence was well involved and fire extending into the residence and power lines down, according to radio reports.
Engine 4 immediately requested a full residential structure fire response. As additional crews arrived on scene, they reported heavy smoke was coming from the front door of the residence, and a possible attic fire became a concern.
As is standard procedure on any structure fire, they "secure" (or shut off) utilities. Crews assigned to that task reported that they got the gas shut off to the home, but the electrical meter was melted, according to fireground radio traffic.

When first arriving fire units reported in, they stated that they had a previously burned, boarded-up home with heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.
According to radio reports, they initiated fire attack but shortly thereafter, had to back out and fight the fire defensively with atrial streams from ladder trucks and master streams from "deck-guns" atop the fire engines.
The home experienced a total roof collapse.

Additional reports came in that a subject who stole items from a backyard was being held down by citizens.

- Just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, the Sacramento Police Department began receiving multiple calls regarding shots fired in the Lavender Heights area of Midtown Sacramento. Some callers reported a couple of shots fired behind Badlands and additional shots fired on K Street, East of the location, according to radio reports.
A witness hailed a security officer conducting a routine patrol check of Mangos, stating he witnessed the shooting and led the security officers and Sacramento Police Officer to the southwest corner of K and 22nd Streets where five shell casings were located.
Ricocheting bullets were heard by Low Brau employees and bystanders striking the metal railings around the patio.
According to bystanders, suspects were seen fleeing the area, south on 22nd from K Street.

- DETAILS FROM THE WEST SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On 03/19/2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, West Sacramento Police Officers responded within the 1000 block of West Capitol Avenue regarding the report of a shooting.
The victim, a 32-year-old Rancho Cordova resident, was located and had a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition.
The shooting suspect was found near the scene, arrested, and remains in custody. She was identified as Leaetta Montgomery, a 51-year-old resident of Sacramento.

- Sacramento Fire crews are putting out the hot spots after a large fire at a home along Raley Blvd.
Initially the call came in for a vehicle fire, but when crews arrived they found a few vehicles on fire, which had also spread to the wooden fence and a shed.
The residences were able to back out a few other vehicles away from the flames and get their family out of the main structure before it spread further.
The first engine called for an additional engine to respond and help out.
A majority of the fire is out, but crews will remain for overhaul and to mop up hot spots.

Bannon St and Bercut Drive
Sacramento Police are on scene of a stolen vehicle and vehicular assault incident on Bannon St and Bercut Drive.
Police responded for a vehicular assault and it was then discovered that the vehicle had lost or stolen plates according to radio traffic.
The female victim did not suffer any major injuries and declined medical attention.
The suspect is now in custody, nothing further to report.

- Just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Stockton Blvd. and Perry Ave.
A victim was located in the 4500 block of 53rd Street with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Shell casings were located in the roadway on Stockton Blvd., just south of Perry Ave.
The victim was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with a tourniquet applied to his leg to control bleeding.
Stockton Blvd. was shut down in both directions between Perry Ave. and Lawrence Drive during the investigation.

- Just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, reports came in regarding multiple explosions and fire in the area of Sutters Landing, just north of Midtown off of 28th and C Streets, according to multiple radio reports.
When crews arrived, they discovered multiple abandoned vehicles and debris on fire with propane tanks exploding west of the Bell Marine Industrial Aggregate area along the American River. This is a densely populated transient encampment area laden with feces and debris.
Rangers pursued a white Durango fleeing area, the occupants of which are believed to be responsible for the blaze. The suspect vehicle was lost but later located unoccupied in the Sutter Park area according to radio reports.
After multiple loads of shuttling water to the fire scene, fire crews were able to fully extinguish and overhaul the fire area.
There were no injuries reported and an arson investigation is underway.

- Just after 1 p.m., Sacramento Fire crews were dispatched to reports of a commercial vehicle fire along Outfall Circle.
When they arrived, they found the vehicle well-involved and began fire attack.
It was discovered they this was an arson fire, and the reporting party supposedly had video of the suspect in action, according to fire radio traffic.
The fire was quickly put out and there were no injuries.
An Arson Investigator was dispatched to the scene and an investigation is underway.

- On March 3rd, at approximately 9:15pm, the West Sacramento Police Department was notified of an adjacent jurisdiction involved in a pursuit which entered the city.
The suspect vehicle was located in a residential neighborhood. A vehicle stop was initiated, and the female driver fled, southbound on Jefferson Blvd.
A pursuit ensued, ending in the area of Jefferson and Devon when the suspect vehicle collided with two vehicles, causing minor injuries.
West Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene.
The female subject was arrested for multiple felonies and transported by the Sacramento Police Department.

- Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, crews from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a commercial vehicle fire in the 3900 block of North Freeway Blvd., in the Natomas area of Sacramento.
When crews arrived, they found two U-Haul trucks on fire with one rolled over the parkway area. As firefighters extinguished the blaze and began checking the rest of the vehicles, they discovered that several of the trucks had been broken into.
The fire was quickly extinguished and no firefighters were injured.
Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies and arson investigators are on scene investigating. No injuries were reported.

Sacramento Metro Fire crews are also on scene to assist with victims.
According to radio traffic, at least four people have been declared deceased inside the building. The shooter is possibly among those, but unknown for sure at this time.
This is a very active situation, and this is all the information we have at this time.

- Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol, responded to the westbound Madison offramp from westbound Interstate 80, for reports of a vehicle accident.
When crews arrived, they found a vehicle wrapped around a tree and a portion of the vehicle several feet from the car.
Paramedics pronounced the sole occupant of the vehicle deceased on scene.
At the time of this posting, no details were immediately available as to the cause of the accident, nor if speed or alcohol were a factor. We will post updates when/if information becomes available from the California Highway Patrol.

- Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, a male subject was witnessed running from K Street, behind Mangos and to the parking lot adjacent to Mangos, to jump into his gray pickup truck. As the subject started the vehicle, he abruptly backed into the gold vehicle, smashing into the driver's side front fender of the car, right in front of the driver's door. Then after a brief pause, the driver attempted to speed away down the driveway behind Mangos toward K Street, where he encountered security staff in the area.
Security staff hailed Sacramento Police Officers less than a block away. Officers arrived on scene and issued a field sobriety test as well as a breathalyzer test. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail.

- Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a shooting, under the freeway, in the area of 3rd and W Streets.
When officers arrived, they found one victim shot with reports of the suspect fleeing with a pistol gripped shotgun type weapon, according to radio reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers closed off 3rd Street between W and X Streets while they investigated, took statements and collected evidence.
