- The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff's office have confirmed that a three-year-old child is deceased in an Arcade-Arcade 4-Plex apartment fire in Sacramento County.
According to reports, the three-year-old and a five-year-old were unattended and a lighter was involved.
Fire crews responded to reports of a fire that had broke out at a home in the 700 block Carro Drive.
Initial arriving fire crews found heavy fire from the building and requested additional resources to the scene. A second alarm was struck bringing additional resources and manpower.
According to radio traffic, a child was trapped inside the home when crews arrived.
An HVAC worker in the area told PSN that he and another person attempted to rescue the child from a back bedroom, but the smoke and fire were too intense and they had to back out.

- Right now California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Metro Fire are on scene of a two vehicle accident involving a semi truck.
After the collision, the semi crashed through a fence and overturned onto the railroad tracks.
Union Pacific has since been notified of the incident.
A passenger in the semi truck was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.
Southbound Roseville Rd is closed and Northbound is slow moving until crews can remove the truck from the tracks.
Traffic is being diverted Eastbound onto Palm Ave.

- Just before 1 A.M. Monday, crews responded for reports of a debris fire on Alhambra just south of the US 50 overcrossing.
When Engine 4 arrived, they found a transient related debris fire including a shopping cart, which caught the vegetation on fire. The fire extended into the field area and ran up the embankment to US 50, catching palm trees on fire and causing a traffic hazard with smoke blowing across the highway.
Crews quickly got a handle on the blaze. Engine 6 was called out to assist with water shuttling.
At the time of this posting, crews are in mop-up phase, making sure the fire is completely extinguished.

- Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sacramento Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call about a possible dead body in the area of 5117 Southwest Ave.
When they arrived on scene they located the person laying on the sidewalk.
Minutes later, deputies came on the radio and said they were able to get a slight pulse and requested fire crews to respond immediately.
The fire department arrived but cleared the scene about five minutes later. No one was transported to the hospital.
At the time, deputies did not confirm that the person had died, but an active crime scene was established.
According to radio traffic, this may have been related to a Shotspotter activation in the area that occurred about thirty minutes before the body was found.
A neighbor who lives nearby told PSN he heard what sounded like gunshots around the same time.

- Just before 4 a.m. Thursday, Engine 4 of the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fence fire in the area of 28th and T Streets. When the crew arrived on scene and located the fence fire, in the 2700 block of T Street, the fence was well involved and fire extending into the residence and power lines down, according to radio reports.
Engine 4 immediately requested a full residential structure fire response. As additional crews arrived on scene, they reported heavy smoke was coming from the front door of the residence, and a possible attic fire became a concern.
As is standard procedure on any structure fire, they "secure" (or shut off) utilities. Crews assigned to that task reported that they got the gas shut off to the home, but the electrical meter was melted, according to fireground radio traffic.

- Just before 2 a.m. Monday, the Sacramento Police Department received reports of someone attempting to break into a previously burned, boarded-up home in the 7200 block of Luther Drive in the South Sacramento area, according to radio reports.
When first arriving fire units reported in, they stated that they had a previously burned, boarded-up home with heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.
According to radio reports, they initiated fire attack but shortly thereafter, had to back out and fight the fire defensively with atrial streams from ladder trucks and master streams from "deck-guns" atop the fire engines.
The home experienced a total roof collapse.
There were no injuries reported and arson investigators are on scene to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.

Some callers reported a couple of shots fired behind Badlands and additional shots fired on K Street, East of the location, according to radio reports.
A witness hailed a security officer conducting a routine patrol check of Mangos, stating he witnessed the shooting and led the security officers and Sacramento Police Officer to the southwest corner of K and 22nd Streets where five shell casings were located.
Ricocheting bullets were heard by Low Brau employees and bystanders striking the metal railings around the patio.
According to bystanders, suspects were seen fleeing the area, south on 22nd from K Street.

Initially the call came in for a vehicle fire, but when crews arrived they found a few vehicles on fire, which had also spread to the wooden fence and a shed.
The residences were able to back out a few other vehicles away from the flames and get their family out of the main structure before it spread further.
The first engine called for an additional engine to respond and help out.

- Just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, reports came in regarding multiple explosions and fire in the area of Sutters Landing, just north of Midtown off of 28th and C Streets, according to multiple radio reports.
When crews arrived, they discovered multiple abandoned vehicles and debris on fire with propane tanks exploding west of the Bell Marine Industrial Aggregate area along the American River. This is a densely populated transient encampment area laden with feces and debris.
Rangers pursued a white Durango fleeing area, the occupants of which are believed to be responsible for the blaze. The suspect vehicle was lost but later located unoccupied in the Sutter Park area according to radio reports.
After multiple loads of shuttling water to the fire scene, fire crews were able to fully extinguish and overhaul the fire area.
There were no injuries reported and an arson investigation is underway.

- Deputies from the Sacramento Sheriff's Office are on scene of an active shooter situation at a church on Wyda Way in Sacramento.
Sacramento Metro Fire crews are also on scene to assist with victims.
According to radio traffic, at least four people have been declared deceased inside the building. The shooter is possibly among those, but unknown for sure at this time.
This is a very active situation, and this is all the information we have at this time.
There will likely be a large police presence in the area for an extended period of time, so please avoid the area if possible.

- Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol, responded to the westbound Madison offramp from westbound Interstate 80, for reports of a vehicle accident.
When crews arrived, they found a vehicle wrapped around a tree and a portion of the vehicle several feet from the car.
Paramedics pronounced the sole occupant of the vehicle deceased on scene.
At the time of this posting, no details were immediately available as to the cause of the accident, nor if speed or alcohol were a factor. We will post updates when/if information becomes available from the California Highway Patrol.

- Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, a male subject was witnessed running from K Street, behind Mangos and to the parking lot adjacent to Mangos, to jump into his gray pickup truck. As the subject started the vehicle, he abruptly backed into the gold vehicle, smashing into the driver's side front fender of the car, right in front of the driver's door. Then after a brief pause, the driver attempted to speed away down the driveway behind Mangos toward K Street, where he encountered security staff in the area.
Security staff hailed Sacramento Police Officers less than a block away. Officers arrived on scene and issued a field sobriety test as well as a breathalyzer test. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail.

- Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a shooting, under the freeway, in the area of 3rd and W Streets.
When officers arrived, they found one victim shot with reports of the suspect fleeing with a pistol gripped shotgun type weapon, according to radio reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers closed off 3rd Street between W and X Streets while they investigated, took statements and collected evidence.

When units arrived on scene, two vehicles were blocking the intersection.
All lanes of eastbound J Street were blocked off at 24th Street in front of Ricks Desert Diner.
According to reports, one person was transported to the hospital, via paramedic ambulance, Medic 4, in unknown condition.

- We were 2nd on scene, before CHP and Fire and assisted w/ scene safety and traffic control until fire arrived.
The vehicle crashed into the "attenuator barrels" on the right-hand shoulder, protecting drivers from the cement Jersey Barriers on the right-hand shoulder. Firefighters stated that those barrels likely saved his life, otherwise he would have slammed directly into the end of the barriers.
The driver was uninjured and CHP was investigating the scene. We were unable to find out if speed or alcohol were a factor in the incident.

On February 21, 2022 shortly after 6 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of 30th Street for a report of a fire in a room at a motel. Officers received additional information that a man had been seen leaving that particular room. The Sacramento Fire Department responded and extinguished a small fire inside the room while locating a deceased female adult.
A short time later, additional officers responded to the area of 28th Street and L Street for a report of a man who was in possession of a sledgehammer and swinging it at passing vehicles. Responding officers were able to safely detain that subject. During a preliminary investigation, officers developed information that the man who was detained was related to the hotel room where the fire occurred.
