- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A high-speed pursuit that began at about 3:30 A.M. in South Sacramento came to a dramatic end Tuesday morning when the suspect was apprehended by law enforcement authorities. The pursuit, involving multiple agencies, lasted for several miles and spanning different areas of the city and two counties.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit started in the vicinity of Blair Avenue and Freeport Boulevard in South Sacramento before the suspect accelerated north on Interstate 5 from 43rd Street. The chase continued as the suspect transitioned onto Interstate 80, heading into West Sacramento. Exiting at Reed, the suspect then maneuvered through the streets, eventually crossing the I Street Bridge and moving over to J Street.

- About 12:30 A.M. Wednesday, the Sacramento Police Department received a call from a person who’s vehicle had been stolen.
According to radio reports, officers located the occupied vehicle and a pursuit ensued through the south portion of the Land Park community of Sacramento, near Riverside and Broadway.
Eventually, the suspects ran from the vehicle, fleeing into the community and jumping fences from backyard to backyard.
The assisting California Highway Patrol aircraft spotted a heat source via infrared and guided ground officers to the heat source.
According to reports, the suspect was on the second floor when he jumped to the ground and was met by a police K9. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found the victim in the area of O Street and 30th Street. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the pinky finger and buttocks and was taken to the hospital by paramedic ambulance.

- SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento Fire Department responded to a report of an alarm at Mercy Housing at 720 7th Street early this morning, where a bedroom fire caused extensive flooding and displaced occupants of at least seven apartments.
According to radio traffic, the fire sprinkler was activated due to the fire, and it was quickly extinguished before getting out of control. The sprinklers were able to contain the fire to the single bedroom of the apartment but caused extensive flooding on the 5th and 4th floors of the apartment complex.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and worked quickly to stop the flooding and assess the damage. They were able to confirm that there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

The Family tells PSN they were attending a vigil for another young man when an argument erupted; then shots were fired. Neighbors stated they heard two volleys of gunfire with at least twenty shots. According to bystanders, the victim was struck multiple times in the upper body. When officers arrived, they rendered aid immediately; however, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
According to radio reports, a white Accura, was stopped related to the incident. Bystanders tell PSN that the occupants of that Acura were attempting to load the shooting victim into that vehicle.

The middle of the light rail train came off the track. The cause is still under investigation. Two passengers reported minor injuries and were transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Early this morning, officers were in the 1100 Block of 15th Street when they were notified of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers attempted to detain the suspects who were still on-scene, but the suspects fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued, and additional officers responded to assist. Both suspects were safely detained by pursuing officers. One suspect discarded an illegally possessed handgun while running and a second illegally possessed handgun was located on the other suspect. The stolen property was recovered by officers and the suspects were arrested for related charges.

The accident involved two vehicles, with one colliding into a utility pole, after being involved in a collision with the other vehicle. According to radio traffic, one patient was found unconscious and had to be transported to the hospital with lights and sirens. The condition of the patient is unknown at this time. Eyewitnesses at the scene say that the vehicle nearly went through a fence and onto the main line of the Union Pacific Railroad before hitting the utility pole. 10000 block of Fairway Drive
Just before 8pm on Saturday evening, Roseville Police were alerted to a license plate reader (LPR) hit for a stolen vehicle near Fairway Dr. in Roseville. Officers located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a store on Fairway Dr.
When the driver returned to the vehicle, officers made contact with the suspect and took him into custody without incident.
The Roseville Police Department has praised the effectiveness of the license plate reader system in helping officers locate and recover stolen vehicles. The system uses advanced technology to scan license plates and check them against a database of stolen vehicles, providing officers with real-time alerts when a stolen vehicle is identified.

- Just before midnight, Sacramento Fire Crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the area of 75th Street and Bellini Way.
When fire crews arrived on scene, they reported heavy fire coming from the front of the structure and fire through the roof. In addition, they had live power lines down in the back, also impeding access to the power box to cut power to the interior of the home.
The structure to the left also caught fire, according to radio reports. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish that fire.
Meanwhile, the attic of the main fire structure became involved but was also quickly extinguished.
The primary search for victims was clear, according to radio reports. One elderly female was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance for evaluation.
Six adults have been misplaced and will receive assistance from the Red Cross.

About 12:40 am Saturday, a minivan with a family was attacked by the Sideshow mob, social media video shows. We initially thought this was a vehicle accident related to the sideshow... not the case.
There was some significant "sideshow" activity occurring at the Meadowview and Amherst intersection with two air units overhead (SacPD helicopter and CHP fixed wing), calling out participant plates and vehicle descriptions to officers waiting to catch up with participants away from the crowd to stop and cite the drivers and impound their vehicles.

- According to the Sacramento Police Department, this situation is related to a carjacking which occurred yesterday (Wednesday). An officer located the vehicle which was occupied. When officers approached the vehicle, the subject in the vehicle became hostile with officers and there was a struggle. At some point the officer deployed his taser however it was ineffective on the subject. The subject was able to get back into the vehicle and an officer was struck by the vehicle and sustained moderate, but non-life-threating injuries and is recovering at the hospital. At some point when the officer was struck by the vehicle, two officers discharged their duty weapons. The suspect arrived at the hospital by private transport and has non-life-threating injuries. A large crime scene area remains taped off and is expected to remain that way for many hours as an intensive investigation is underway.

- Just before 2 a.m. Thursday, crews from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 4000 block of Damant Court in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County.
When crews arrived, they reported heavy flames and smoke coming from the Bravo (left, facing the house) side of the home, according to radio traffic.
“Fire was knocked down, contained to the attic. No injuries reported, 3 persons and 2 dogs are displaced. The fire is under investigation,” Captain Parker Wilbourn, Spokesperson for Metro Fire, stated via Twitter Thursday morning.

On January 29, 2023, around 11:53 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 6500 Block of Freeport Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers located one male adult victim who sustained at least one gunshot wound. Officers performed life-saving measures and the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries. A short time later, one suspect was detained.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators will be responding to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

In the early hours of January 12, 2023, North Patrol deputies responded to two calls for service for a man who made threats with a knife. Unfortunately, he could not be located either time. Shortly afterward, at approximately 1:54 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the same area for a male who threatened a security guard with a gun. The suspect matched the description of the previous two calls. When units arrived on the scene, the subject got into a truck and attempted to drive away.
Deputies attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, but the suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Jose HERNANDEZ, refused to stop, leading deputies on a lengthy pursuit throughout the north area of Sacramento County.
