- Maureen “Mo” Beck grew up Ellsworth, Maine. She roped up for the first time at age 12, developing her potential as a one-handed climber. Now based in the Colorado Front Range, Mo was named one of National Geographic’s 2019 Adventurers of the Year. Mo spends her nights training at Evo Rock and Fitness Louisville and her weekends climbing all over the American southwest. She works closely with the adaptive climbing community through Paradox Sports and the Paraclimbing section of USA Climbing and helps manage the Front Range Adaptive Climbing Team. But the arrival of the coronavirus and its impact on Maine restaurants forced them to launch in three weeks. Coupled with a digital marketing campaign, the company’s products are now in groceries along the Eastern Seaboard.
Likewise, managers at Independence Floor Supply thought they should offer their wholesale flooring services online at some point. That abstract notion became a priority as the company sought ways to diversify. Their new e-commerce website paid for itself in three weeks, and continues to bring in thousands of dollars in additional sales of new products.

Meir lived in space for 205 days on the International Space Station. She conducted three spacewalks with crewmate Christina Koch of NASA, for a total of 21 hours and 44 minutes outside of the ISS.
Meir has a Ph.D. in marine biology. She contributed to hundreds of experiments in biology, Earth science, human research, physical sciences and technology development while onboard the orbiting laboratory.

Bill Nemitz has worked as a journalist in Maine since 1977, when he became a reporter for the Morning Sentinel in Waterville. He began writing his popular Portland Press Herald column in 1995. His work has taken him three times to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan, where he was embedded with members of the Maine Army National Guard and the Army Reserve; to Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the 1998 referendum on the Good Friday Peace Accord; to Manhattan for the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks; to the Gulf Coast for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. In 2015, Nemitz was inducted into the Maine Press Association Hall of Fame. Nemitz lives in Buxton with his wife, Andrea. They have five children.
