- At approximately 1:50 a.m. on January 26th, 2026, officers with the Houston Police Department responded to reports of a home invasion with multiple gunshot victims in the 4000 block of Lockwood Drive in Houston.
According to police, two masked suspects — a Black male and a Black female — forced their way into the residence and became involved in a gunfight with the homeowner, an elderly woman in her late 70s. The homeowner exchanged gunfire with the suspects, striking both of them.
Both suspects were transported to area hospitals, with one listed in critical condition and the other in stable condition. The female homeowner was also struck during the exchange and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators confirmed that other people were inside the home at the time of the incident, but none were involved in the exchange of gunfire. The types of firearms used by those involved were not immediately known.

Upon arrival, crews located a single-wide mobile home with fire through the roof. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire, knocking it down and conducting an overhaul to ensure no further extension.
All occupants were able to safely evacuate the home prior to firefighters’ arrival, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remained under investigation at the time of the incident.

- At approximately midnight on January 25th, 2026, officers with the Sugar Land Police Department and Sugar Land Fire Department responded to a reported traffic collision near West Airport Boulevard and Burney Road.
After fire personnel arrived on scene, the incident was upgraded to a Level 1 Multi-Casualty Incident (MCI). One patient required extrication, and CPR was initiated on at least one individual. Up to three patients were possibly transported from the scene.
The condition of the patients was not released. One person appeared to be deceased at the scene, though this was not officially confirmed. The incident remains under investigation.

The incident began around 5:00 p.m. as a failure-to-yield pursuit involving a possible assault with a deadly weapon suspect. The pursuit entered northbound Interstate 805, where speeds reportedly exceeded 100 miles per hour. According to investigators, a sheriff’s deputy was traveling eastbound in the 4300 block of State Highway 99 when dense fog was believed to have impacted visibility. Fire fighters rescued a trapped driver that was stuck on the edge of a cliff after the driver lost control, soared through a massive turnout and launched over the berm.

When first responders arrived on scene they were able to confirm the dispatch information.
The driver was not trapped however the driver was unable to get out of the vehicle as he had his foot on the break holding the vehicle from rolling any further.
