At around 1:10 a.m., a Carlsbad Police officer observed a vehicle make an unsafe lane change and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver failed to yield and fled, entering northbound I-5 from Cannon Rd.
During the pursuit, the vehicle reached speeds of approximately 120 MPH.
The driver exited at Carlsbad Village Dr, re-entered southbound I-5, exited again at Cannon Rd, then re-entered northbound I-5 before exiting eastbound Tamarack Ave.
The pursuing officer lost sight of the vehicle northbound near Pio Pico.
While multiple officers searched the area, the vehicle was later located at the Mobile gas station.
A felony stop was conducted, and the driver was taken into custody.
There is no additional information at this time.

- At approximately 3:10 p.m. on February 6th, 2026, officers with the San Bruno Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a residence located at 150 Keefe Court in San Bruno.
Family members told dispatchers that a suspect remained barricaded inside the home. Officers arrived, extricated the shooting victim from the residence, and immediately began performing CPR.
Shortly after the rescue, the home was set ablaze while officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect inside. Firefighters responded and began defensive firefighting operations to prevent the fire from spreading. As the structure became engulfed in flames, what appeared to be ammunition could be heard popping from within the home.
The suspect remained inside the residence as fire crews worked to suppress the blaze. The incident remained active as authorities continued their investigation.

According to HPD Lieutenant Willkens, the crash was linked to a burglary that occurred earlier at an AutoZone located at 1818 Gessner Road. Investigators said suspects broke into the business, stole multiple car batteries, and fled the area in a maroon sedan. - At approximately 2:00 a.m. on February 5th, 2026, firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a vacant strip mall near the intersection of 43rd Street and Vermont Avenue in South Los Angeles.
Upon arrival, crews immediately took a defensive posture due to heavy fire conditions. During firefighting operations, a portion of the building’s facade collapsed, which was captured on video. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within approximately 25 minutes.

Ontario Police Department’s drone arrived first on scene and reported smoke and fire coming through the roof of a former TGI Fridays restaurant. Fire crews arrived shortly after and took a defensive posture due to the extent of the fire, utilizing ladder trucks to apply water from above.
As of approximately 3:00 a.m., the fire remained active. No injuries were reported. The Ontario Fire Department remained on scene investigating the cause of the fire.

According to CHP, Riverside PIO, Javier Navarro, On February 3, 2026, at 3:16 a.m., CHP units responded to a call of a crash involving a silver Honda Civic vs. a semi truck on Meridian Parkway just south of Innovation Drive. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda Civic had rear-ended a stopped semi truck. The driver of the Honda, a 18 year old male, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased by fire personnel. At this time it is not clear if drugs are alcohol were a factor in the crash, until toxicology becomes available. The semi was stopped on the side of the road, in front of the “No Stopping Bike Lane” sign for a few minutes to check to see if the gate was open to enter a facility. - At approximately 7:55 p.m. on January 28th, 2026, a District 2 deputy with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was traveling eastbound in the 14000 block of the Eastex Freeway when she observed a red Corvette exiting a private drive and failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled, running multiple stop signs and red lights, leading to a pursuit that spanned approximately 16 miles. The chase continued through surface streets and freeways before ending in the 3100 block of the South Freeway after the suspect vehicle sustained engine damage and came to a complete stop.

- At approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 30th, 2026, firefighters with Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vehicle-versus-fire-hydrant collision in the 4700 block of South La Brea Avenue in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles.
Upon arrival, crews found a high-pressure fire hydrant sheared off, sending water an estimated 75 to 100 feet into the air and into nearby power lines, creating a hazardous situation. Due to the involvement of electrical infrastructure, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was requested to shut down the water supply.
Vehicles were seen driving through the flooded roadway, while others made U-turns to avoid the scene. The vehicle responsible for striking the hydrant fled prior to the arrival of first responders.
