- At approximately 4:20am on March 6th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a man armed with a knife inside a Winchell’s Donuts near 8th Avenue and Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles.
According to authorities, the suspect entered the occupied store and threatened to stab employees and a customer. LAPD officers arrived and evacuated workers from the front of the store as well as bakers who were inside the back area of the business.
The suspect initially refused to drop the knife but eventually set the weapon down. Officers then entered the store and used less-lethal ammunition before taking the suspect into custody.
No employees or customers were injured during the incident, though several individuals were reported to be shaken by the encounter.

- At approximately 3:15am on February 28th, 2026, authorities received reports of a motorcycle crashing into a roadside wall on the on-ramp to northbound Interstate 405 at Springdale Street in Westminster.
Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to impact and veered toward the left lanes after striking the wall. Callers later advised that a person was lying in the roadway, though it was initially unclear if the individual was down in active traffic lanes.
By 3:22am, responding units requested a hard closure of the on-ramp and portions of the mainline lanes to secure the scene. The coroner was notified at approximately 3:21am.

- At approximately 12:48am on March 2nd, 2027, California Highway Patrol, Riverside Fire Department, and Cal Fire Riverside County personnel responded to a rollover traffic collision at Gavilan Road and Multiview Drive in Perris.
Upon arrival, crews located a vehicle with two occupants inside, one of whom required extrication. That individual was freed from the wreckage and transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The second occupant was also transported to a hospital with injuries that were not immediately disclosed.
During the rescue efforts, first responders learned a third occupant had been ejected from the vehicle. Firefighters searched the surrounding area and ultimately located the individual approximately 30 yards off the roadway. The third patient was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary information indicated up to three individuals were struck by gunfire. At least one victim was confirmed deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation.
Authorities were searching for a possible black Kia sedan believed to be connected to the incident. The motive behind the shooting remained unclear.
The surrounding area remained closed as investigators processed the scene, though the nearby restaurant continued operating within the crime scene perimeter. - At approximately 11:30pm on February 26th, 2026, Houston Police Department and Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of multiple cows loose near Oats Road and US-90 in Houston.
Authorities located approximately 15 cows that had escaped from private property and were seen grazing nearby. At times, the cattle wandered onto the main roadway, prompting officers to activate emergency lights and sirens to safely direct them away from traffic.
The owner arrived in a pickup truck along with several dogs to assist in wrangling the cows back into the property. After a short-lived adventure, the cattle were successfully returned and were last observed drinking water inside the enclosure.
A local resident stated similar incidents had occurred in the past, with cows reportedly coming close to passing vehicles and causing concern for drivers.
No injuries were reported.

- At approximately 4:00am on February 27th, 2026, a 911 call was made reporting an adult male possibly breaking into vehicles in a neighborhood near Kuykendahl Road and Woerner in Houston.
Upon arrival, Harris County Precinct 4 deputies located a vehicle matching the description provided by callers. The vehicle reportedly had several traffic violations. When deputies attempted to initiate a stop, a short pursuit ensued down Kuykendahl Road.
The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed out. An adult male was taken into custody at the scene and was expected to be booked into the Harris County Jail.
No deputies were injured during the incident. The suspect’s criminal history was not immediately known. The investigation remained ongoing.

According to a CHP press release, the crash involved a 2010 Ford Ranger and a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia. The preliminary investigation revealed the Ford was traveling southbound in the #4 lane and approaching the Freightliner when, for reasons still under investigation, the Ford rear-ended the semi-truck.
When units arrived, they located the small silver truck wedged underneath the rear of the semi. The driver of the Ford Ranger was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel. The semi driver was not injured.
