On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Houston Police Department Midwest Patrol officers responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at the intersection of West Alabama Street and Sage Road (or immediately east of the intersection).
The incident involved a single vehicle and one pedestrian.
It is unclear at this time whether the collision occurred within a marked crosswalk or farther east along West Alabama Street.
The driver of the black Chevrolet Tahoe remained on scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.

- At approximately 11:00 pm on March 9th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a reported shooting near Washington Boulevard and Los Angeles Street near downtown Los Angeles.
Upon arrival, first responders located a man inside an SUV who was unconscious and not breathing. The victim appeared to have been shot while inside the vehicle, which was believed to have been parked at the time.
Witnesses reported the suspect was seen running from the scene toward a nearby area with several RVs. Officers cleared one RV while searching for the suspect, who remained outstanding.
The investigation remained ongoing.

Per radio traffic, the suspect fled on foot into the apartments located at 3131 Southwest Freeway.
Officers searched the apartment complex. The search seems to be paused but the apartment complex is still surrounded.

- At approximately 4:45am on March 7th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a medical emergency near Figueroa Street and Pico Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, near the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Authorities located an adult male who had suffered severe self-inflicted injuries. The man was later found collapsed near a nearby 7-Eleven after walking from the area where the incident occurred.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Investigators located clothing and blood in the area believed to be connected to the incident. Due to the graphic nature of the injuries, portions of the video from the scene have been blurred.
The incident remained under investigation.

An 18-year-old male riding a crotch-rocket type motorcycle was traveling westbound on Woodway when the collision occurred.

Officers arrived and found the man, at that time they tried to make contact with him when the officer noticed that he had an object in his hand.
The officer made commands to drop the object, at that time the man fled and ran off of the freeway to a nearby hotel called the Morada Inn at 8062 Garden Grove Blvd..
Officers chased the man, and made contact with Orange County Fire Authority to assist with a ladder truck.
After about 45 mins the man finally came down off the roof of the hotel on his own, during which officers deployed a taser hitting the man.

- At approximately 4:20am on March 6th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a man armed with a knife inside a Winchell’s Donuts near 8th Avenue and Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles.
According to authorities, the suspect entered the occupied store and threatened to stab employees and a customer. LAPD officers arrived and evacuated workers from the front of the store as well as bakers who were inside the back area of the business.
The suspect initially refused to drop the knife but eventually set the weapon down. Officers then entered the store and used less-lethal ammunition before taking the suspect into custody.
No employees or customers were injured during the incident, though several individuals were reported to be shaken by the encounter.
