A second crash then occurred in the same area involving a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Authorities say the SUV took evasive action to avoid the earlier crash, resulting in a collision with the motorcycle.
The rider was ejected after being redirected into the center median and was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

At approximately 6:54pm the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the above location for a Semi Vs Semi traffic accident.
Upon Arrival, officers observed 3 semi trucks possibly involved with 1 fully engulfed in flames.
Not long after, another semi truck and trailer caught fire.
A hard closure of Eastbound and Westbound lanes of interstate 40 was put into place.
2 people were found and a search for a third was underway.
A third person was located and pronounced deceased at 8:39pm by a fire paramedic captain.
Eastbound lanes are open however Westbound lanes remain closed.
The condition of the two other drivers involved is unknown at this time.
Hazmat crews will remain on scene for cleanup operations.

At around 4:45 AM reports came in of a vehicle versus pedestrian near the intercession of Mission and Mesa Drive.
on arrival first responders located a older man down in lanes with major injuries to his head and pronounced him deceased on scene.
According to a witness, the driver of the vehicle fled, but they were able to get a good description on the vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle at an apartment complex at 201 Los Arbolitos Dr.
The vehicle was towed from the location.
It is unknown at this time if the driver has been arrested.

According to HCSO VDD LT Gilbert:
Upon arrival of units, they found an unresponsive male on the roadway
Witnesses on scene advised that a possible Chevy Express box van struck an individual on the feeder road.
The pedestrian was walking southbound on the grass median
The vehicle may have left the roadway and struck him
EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the male deceased
Appears to be a 30-year-old black male, currently unidentified

Around 4:15am Friday at 13 Spencer Highway (The Gym) a pickup truck crashed into the front of the gym’s walls next to the glass doors. Driver was reportedly trapped. Life flight medical helicopter was dispatched and upon making contact with the victim it took them about 10-15 minutes to get him out of the vehicle and packaged for transport to hospital. CPR was not performed and victim appeared to be in stable condition. South Houston PD & South Houston FD were on scene assisting. Road was shut down to allow the life flight helicopter to land on the road. No word from South Houston PD.

One was at the North 14 freeway and ave I.
Second was North 14 freeway and Rosamond exit in Kern County.

A man in a yellow Corvette led multiple police agencies in a pursuit across the Los Angeles Area.
After getting off the 91 and 110 Freeways, the suspect entered Torrance, where Torrance Police officers went into pursuit.
The chase ended in a crash at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard, where the suspect crashed into an SUV and took down a tree.
He was taken into custody, where he was then transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Part of eastbound Sepulveda Boulevard has been shut down for the investigation and cleanup.

- At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 12, 2026, deputies responded to reports of a stabbing near True Avenue and Myron Street in Pico Rivera.
When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition.
According to neighbors, the victim was new to the area and was known for walking his dog in the neighborhood.
Authorities say the suspect retreated into a nearby residence and was heard yelling at deputies from inside. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department crisis negotiators responded and attempted to establish communication.
The suspect later retreated further into the home and stopped responding, prompting a response from the Special Enforcement Bureau, which prepared to make entry.
The surrounding area remained shut down as the barricade situation continued.
