UNINCORPORATED ESCONDIDO: At around 10:15 PM, reports of a stabbing came in on the 11300 block of Reidy Canyon Pl.
First responders arrived and confirmed a stabbing had occurred, with the suspect fleeing the scene. Deputies, along with the Sheriff’s helicopter, conducted an extensive search of the area.
After some time, deputies located the suspect at a separate residence on the 26800 block of N Broadway. The suspect was armed with scissors and claimed to have a firearm. Following a period of negotiations, the suspect told deputies he would come out after getting water.
A short time later, at around 1:55 pm the suspect exited and ran toward deputies, leading to an officer-involved shooting.

At or around 2:30 PM, units from the Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments were dispatched to a possible fire on the 11800 block of 187th Street in Artesia.
Arriving units found flames coming through the roof of the residence.
Additional resources were requested to fill the first alarm assignment to prevent additional exposure to neighboring homes.
No injuries were reported by residents or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but arson investigators are currently on scene.

- At approximately 11:38 p.m. on April 5th, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a life-in-danger call on the 14700 block of the East Freeway in Houston.
According to investigators, a black Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Victoria Gonzalez, was either stopped or traveling at a slow speed in the eastbound lanes when it was struck from behind by a silver Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver of the Silverado failed to control speed and fled the scene on foot after the collision, leaving the vehicle approximately a quarter mile from the crash site.
Gonzalez was found unresponsive and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medics.
The suspect driver has not been located, and the incident remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
