- On Tuesday, University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) students participated in a peaceful protest at the Knowledge Center on campus. The protest came in response to an alleged racist incident that was recorded at the Black Scholars Living Learning Community on campus a couple of weeks ago.
"Someone sent the video in and was just like, I don't feel safe. I don't feel comfortable," Co-president of UNR's Black Student Organization (BSO) Virchelle Banks said.
The student protesters also called on the university to take a more active stance in solidarity with its students of color.

- The A's are on the move but not quite to Nevada just yet. The Bay Area baseball team will play at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for the 2025-27 seasons with an option in 2028. The A's explored a number of options including Greater Nevada Field here in Reno before deciding on Sacramento. The new ballpark in Las Vegas is slated to be finished by the start of the 2028 season.

- A former Washoe County sheriff's sergeant is headed to prison for up to three years after he was sentenced for multiple felony counts on Tuesday morning.
Dennis Carry was sentenced to 12 to 36 months for three felonies including bigamy, forgery and offering false evidence after breaking into the courthouse after hours to alter his marriage records. A Douglas County judge ruled the sentences will run concurrently and he will get credit for the four days already served.
Carry was arrested back in Jan. 2021 after getting into the courthouse after hours in 2019 to alter documents when it was revealed he was married to two women at the same time — including federal Judge Carla Baldwin.
