- The 2026 Bank of America Chicago 13.1 Half-Marathon unofficially kicks off the summer running season, and records fell on the streets of the city Sunday.
Hundreds of participants hit the course on Chicago’s West Side, and in the early stages of the competition a record quickly fell.
That record, at least unofficially, now belongs to men’s wheelchair racer Daniel Romanchuk, who blistered through the 13.1-mile course in a staggering time of 41 minutes and 54 seconds.

When the driving officer exited the car, the detained man -- identified as 37-year-old Stacey Huffman -- jumped into the driver's seat and gained control of the patrol car. From the back seat, an officer used a Taser to force him to stop until control of the vehicle was regained.
Huffman was arrested and taken to the hospital.
