The Government has now issued guidance that advises parents of younger children to limit screen time for two to five-year-olds to an hour a day, and less if possible.
The Prime Minister visited a school on Friday and told parents: "If we’re going to do more to protect children, we’re going to have to fight some of the platforms that are putting the material up there."
The Government is also currently consulting on how to protect children under the age of 16 online, which could include an Australia-style social media ban or measures like time limits and curfews.

- A teenager murdered his mother after consulting AI (Artificial Intelligence) for assistance. Tristan Roberts, 18, used a hammer to bludgeon Angela Shellis while recording the fatal assault on a dictaphone.
He subsequently "boasted" online about what he had done to Ms Shellis, a 45 year old teaching assistant, Mold Crown Court heard on Wednesday, reports Wales Online.
Roberts has now been imprisoned for a minimum of 22 years and six months. Sentencing him to life at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday, Judge Rhys Rowlands said: "You appear to have revelled in the control you exerted over your own mother."

suspected to be cocaine, heroin and MDM, have been seized after a police raid in Moss Side.
A number of bladed weapons, including zombie knives, were also seized from the address at Hartington Street.
As a result of the warrant, six people, Five men and one woman, aged between 18 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and remain in custody for questioning.
Police say the raid is part of Operation Monmouth, which was set up last year to target these specific issues.

The Royal Navy previously joined allies in action against the vessels. It comes after it last week helped track a sanctioned Russian oil tanker in the Mediterranean which was boarded by the French navy.
Moscow’s shadow fleet is reported to be made up of more than a thousand ageing tankers. They illicitly ship oil and other goods out of Russia by flying the flags of other countries, with the aim of evading sanctions imposed by the West since the invasion of Ukraine began.

Nigel Dewale was arrested last August after the messages were sent during the Women's Euros to Jess Carter.
He later admitted in court one count of malicious communications, and possession of a weapon in a private place.
The 60-year-old, of Prospect Street, Great Harwood, was sentenced to six weeks prison, suspended for 12 months, and received a four-year football banning order.
He also has a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, a three-month 8pm-6am curfew, and must pay a victim surcharge and towards prosecution costs.

Four ambulances from Hatzola, a volunteer-led ambulance service, were set alight at around 1.35am on March 23. The Metropolitan Police labelled the attack an 'antisemitic hate crime' and were initially hunting for four men in relation to the incident.
On Wednesday morning, the force arrested two men, aged 47 and 45, at addresses in north-west London and central London. They were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
