- Official design renderings for the president’s controversial 250-foot arch were shared on Friday.
The monument, dubbed the Triumphal Arch, will potentially sit in Memorial Circle, a traffic roundabout near Arlington National Cemetery.
The arch will feature a golden inscription that will read "One Nation Under God" and will be topped with a winged Lady Liberty statue. Flanked on both sides of the statue’s base will be four golden lions.
The architectural renderings were created by Harris Design.
First announced in October 2025, the president acknowledged that he’d like the arch to "be the biggest of all."
"It’ll be substantial," President Donald Trump said at the time.
The president wanted the giant structure to be reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. That arch was built to honor those who fought for France during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars.

- The suspect accused of shooting and killing a sheriff’s deputy in California is now dead, according to Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux. The suspect was killed when a Bearcat, an armored vehicle, ran him over.
“We intentionally ran him over,” Sheriff Boudreaux said. “You shoot at cops, we’re going to run you over.”
“He got run over; he got what he deserved,” Sheriff Boudreaux added.

Police say deputies were serving an eviction notice in the area when somebody started shooting.
Sheriff Boudreaux held a news conference earlier in the day, where he said the deputy was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Pluto was declassified as the ninth planet in our solar system in August 2006, but a recent comment from NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has some people optimistic that Pluto could be a planet once again.
Isaacman replied to a post by Mike's Weather Page on X, of a letter from 10-year-old Kaela writing to NASA to tell them how much she loves Pluto and asking them to make it a planet again.

- We are watching as California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) announce the takedown of a $267 million healthcare fraud ring in the state. Bonta said during a press conference detailing the operation on Thursday that the investigation culminated with search and arrest warrants executed at 12 locations across Southern California. Known as "Operation Skip Trace," law enforcement reportedly seized $757,000 in cash and two firearms during the raids.
"Over the life of this fraud scheme, not a single legitimate hospice service was ever provided, yet millions were billed in a brazen, calculated scheme that exploited the Medi-Cal system," Attorney General Bonta said.

Brian Hooker “categorically and unequivocally denies any wrongdoing” and has been cooperating with authorities, lawyer Terrel Butler said in the statement. Butler said Hooker could not provide further comments while investigations are continuing.
Authorities said the husband, a 59-year-old man whom they did not identify, was arrested in Abaco on Wednesday and is being questioned. Police and Butler did not provide further details, including whether or not he was charged.
A U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson told The Associated Press that they have opened a criminal investigation into the case.
