- Ed Sheeran addressed the controversy surrounding his U.S. tour over the weekend, speaking publicly about the war in Gaza and free-speech concerns after rapper Macklemore was dropped from the tour and other opening acts withdrew in solidarity.
An emotional Sheeran spoke directly to roughly 50,000 fans Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, his first concert since the dispute erupted.
“I’ve never wanted to be an activist musician,” Sheeran told the crowd.
The controversy began after Macklemore, who had been opening for Sheeran, used performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month to speak about the war in Gaza, including declaring, “Free Palestine.”
The remarks drew both support and backlash.

- Description
- Reporters from three major news organizations — CNN, MS NOW and Politico — were denied access to the White House on Saturday, a day after President Donald Trump said he was barring them because of reporting he found to be “fake news.”
The actions were a clear escalation of Trump’s long-running efforts — in the courts and through administrative action — to restrict news coverage by journalists he finds objectionable, and the latest test of First Amendment protections in the United States. Trump had said Friday he would ban all three outlets because of coverage he disliked.
White House reporters from the two cable networks — Betsy Klein of CNN and Akayla Gardner of MS NOW — both went live to report they’d been turned away, their press badges deactivated, when arriving for their jobs at the White House. Soon after, Politico said its White House reporter Cheyenne Haslett was also denied entry and had her badge confiscated.

Now, we're investigating what the FDA knew, why it took no meaningful action on warning signs, and the questions the agency still refuses to answer.

- Description
- Utah Motorsports Campus is reopening under new local ownership and a new name, West Desert, with plans to grow the longtime racing venue into a year-round destination for motorsports, engineering innovation and family entertainment.
Utah-based PV3 Enterprises took over the 511-acre Tooele County property earlier this year. The company said it has invested more than $50 million so far in improvements and expects to make additional investments over time.
The campus, formerly Miller Motorsports Park, opened 20 years ago and includes a 4.5-mile road course, a karting track, off-road facilities, garages, grandstands and event space. Its reopening comes after just over a decade under the ownership of a China-based private company, returning the venue to local ownership.

- Description
- The Senate is moving closer to a final vote on a sweeping college-sports overhaul after two bipartisan procedural votes this week, including a 77-22 vote Thursday.
The latest version would set national rules for NIL/revenue sharing, transfers, eligibility and athlete protections, while giving the NCAA limited antitrust protection.
Supporters say it would bring stability to college sports; opponents argue it gives the NCAA too much power and doesn't adequately protect athletes.
