- Description
- A Lehi Crossing guard is asking drivers to follow the laws surrounding crosswalks after she had to jump in front of a van to stop it from hitting children just last week.
The incident happened at 1100 West and 1450 South in Lehi. While 2News doesn't have the now-viral video due to licensing agreements, Tara Sandstrom explained what happened.
"Yeah, so I was, I don't know, about here, and had my sign up. Kids and I were actively in the crosswalk, and then I turned around because I have, as you can see from this road, I have oncoming traffic to worry about here," Sandstrom explained. "Then I saw the white van start to proceed forward, and that's when I ran over here and blocked the boys from being struck."

- President Donald Trump used his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Tuesday to defend the nearly seven-month U.S. war with Iran, claim Tehran’s regional power has been broken, and raise the prospect of either a negotiated agreement or further escalation.
“There is no better example of a danger that was allowed to gather strength at the world’s peril than the number one sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump told world leaders.
“They were the bully of the Middle East, but they are the bully no more,” he added.
Trump said he had repeatedly offered Iran economic cooperation in exchange for ending its nuclear program and support for terrorism, but Tehran rejected those overtures. He claimed Iran had been building a missile and drone stockpile, including a missile capable of striking Europe, before the U.S. took military action earlier this year.

- Description
- Automated license plate readers are becoming increasingly visible across Utah, appearing on city streets, in parking lots and on private property.
The cameras can help law enforcement find stolen vehicles, locate missing or endangered people and investigate crimes. But as the technology expands, questions remain about who can access the information the cameras collect and how it can be used.
Automated license plate readers, or ALPRs, photograph license plates and create records that can include a vehicle's location, date and time. Utah law defines captured plate data as including GPS coordinates, the date and time, a photograph, the license plate number and other information captured or derived from the system.
