Description: Have you ever heard someone say they're a little allergic to a particular food? Health editors at Consumer Reports say there’s no such thing. A food intolerance is more likely.

And while some of the symptoms of an allergy and a food intolerance are similar, the differences between the two are critical.

Food allergies attack the immune system. A food intolerance affects the digestive system. Identifying whether you have an intolerance or an allergy is important because it can make your quality of life much better.

People with a food intolerance can still eat certain foods without serious consequences. But for someone with an allergy, touching, inhaling, or ingesting even a microscopic amount of an allergenic food can be deadly.

But with all that convenience comes a serious question: Are e-scooters safe? A Consumer Reports investigation found that serious e-scooter injuries are happening all too frequently.

Consumer Reports contacted hospitals, municipal agencies and universities in 47 cities where at least one of the major ride-sharing e-scooter companies, Bird or Lime, operates. After a careful examination of the data, CR estimated that 1,500 people across the U.S. had been injured in an accident related to an e-scooter since late 2017. CR talked to several doctors at trauma centers who said they had been treating serious injuries related to e-scooters. They had seen broken bones and even brain injurie...

Description: The Consumer Federation of America says thanks to economic recovery, and in many cases improved family finances, a lot of us know that credit scores are important, but some might be less concerned about understanding them.

This week, CFA and VantageScore Solutions, LLC released CFA's ninth annual credit score survey. The results show overall consumer knowledge about credit scores reached the lowest level since the survey started in 2012.

"We found that more and more folks are losing a bit of knowledge about how those scores are developed, even though they understand that they are very important," said CFA Executive Director Jack Gillis.

The CFA's newest online Credit Score Quiz asks 12 multiple choice questions about who uses credit scores, what information is considered, and how your score hits you in the wallet.

Description: KOMO News showed you last month how the typical process for claiming money in your name in the state's Unclaimed Property account, is to provide valid identification and, in some cases, documentation of your connection to the business that sent your money to the state. But claiming your cash is a little trickier when your claim involves the estate of someone who died.

Frank Marshall is the Unclaimed Property Locator for the state Department of Revenue's Unclaimed Property Section. He specializes in finding people who have very large claims -- as in thousands and some times millions of dollars.

Marshall says many of the claims he handles involve estate accounts where the person is no longer living. In these cases, even a claim of several hundred dollars can be challenging for heirs who assume that a simple Power of Attorney or Executor's letter will do.

Brasler and his research team did some secret shopping for their latest bike shop survey. He says using the internet is great if you want to get a general idea of what's out there, but don't expect big price breaks by buying a bike online. Brasler says most online sellers will still direct you to a physical retailer.

And if you were to scan the whole bunch as they stand there, you would be hard pressed not to notice that there is one player, who, for lack of a better word, is "different."

His name is Ayden Harris. In addition to his blue and red Apple Sox jersey, and his white baseball pants, he perpetually wears a big loopy grin.

He is, for lack of a better word "different" because of his height. Or lack of it.

There is a school there called Ordway Elementary, and awhile back, inside the school in room 303 where Mrs. Muffoletto teaches fourth grade...a great mystery unfolded.

Somebody was taking Mr. and Mrs. Potato Heads that were kept on the counter by the sink and they were rearranging the body parts.

Mr. Potato Head's pants were on his head, Mrs. Potato Head's arm was where her nose was supposed to be.

"I thought, 'I'm going to have to have a serious conversation with my kiddos about the potato heads,'" Mrs. Michele Muffoletto said.

Description: A strong tornado touched down in Port Orchard Tuesday afternoon, heavily damaging several homes and toppling trees. Some minor injuries have been reported, but no one has needed hospitalization, according to Poulsbo Fire.

"KCSO, Port Orchard PD and several fire agencies have responded to a weather event that has caused catastrophic damage in the Port Orchard area," the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said. "Most of the damage is contained to the area and neighborhoods east and south of WalMart."

Description: It was a shocking scene above the Puget Sound, as Horizon Airlines employee Richard Russell stole and flew a turboprop from Sea-Tac Airport while air traffic tried to talk him down.

“Congratulations, you did that, now let’s try to land that airplane safely and not hurt anybody on the ground,” air traffic said.

“Alright, damn it, I don’t know man, I don’t want to,” Russell replied. “I was kind of hoping that would be it, you know?”

Fighter jets closely followed, as Russell flew circles and did tricks for more than an hour.

“So, I’m not taking you to any jets, I’m actually keeping you away from aircrafts that are trying to land at SeaTac,” air traffic added.

“Oh okay, yeah, yeah I don’t want to screw that,” Russell replied.

Onlooker John Waldron saw the flight unfold and took a video of it.

Description: The Seattle Police Department cited the truck driver for failing to secure the load in Wednesday’s steel ball spill where 44,000 pounds of heavy balls rolled out of an 18-wheeler truck.

The citation carries a $136 fine.

The spill happened on West Seattle’s Genesee Hill as rush hour was getting underway. Several cars were damaged but no one was hurt.
