They're a new savings and investment option for kids under the age of 18 in the U.S.
The controversial "One Big Beautiful Bill," which was signed into law by President Donald Trump in July 2025, allowed the accounts to be established.
An American child born after Dec. 31, 2024, and before Jan. 1, 2029, for whom a Trump Account is established will receive an initial $1,000 deposit from the government, with the potential for parents to contribute up to an additional $5,000 per year initially, a White House fact sheet from August 2025 said.
ARC Seattle spoke with Adam Powell, a financial advisor with Private Advisory Group in Redmond, about when families can start using the accounts, who can contribute to them, and who stands to benefit the most from them.

The event was at the Seattle International Media Center to preview Monday’s matchup, which is the final match hosted at Seattle Stadium.
The press conference theme was “Cool Under Pressure,” and included a prediction from Luna, described as a psychic and “very adoptable” 8-year-old German Shepard mix from the Seattle Animal Shelter.
Luna is available for adoption through the Seattle Animal Shelter and is still looking for her forever home.

- A 47-year-old man has been charged after prosecutors say he posed as a Seattle City Light employee while stealing copper wire from the West Seattle Bridge.
Gregory Wayne Galitzeck is charged with first-degree malicious mischief, first-degree theft, and first-degree criminal impersonation, according to King County prosecutors.
Seattle police said Galitzeck was arrested on the morning of June 27 after an officer conducting a proactive DUI patrol spotted him standing on the shoulder of the bridge's westbound lanes at about 1:16 a.m.
Initially, concerned the man might be attempting suicide, the officer circled back and saw him rolling up what appeared to be copper wire.

- Tacoma Animal Control is investigating a dog attack that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital and led doctors to induce labor.
From her hospital room over a Zoom interview, Renee Wilson told KOMO News she was given the green light on Wednesday to check out of Tacoma General Hospital to be with her newborn, nearly one week after the attack in the 4000 block of Puget Sound Avenue.
Wilson explained she was about to install her new baby car seat in the parking lot of her apartment complex on June 25, her due date, when the unthinkable happened.
"I saw two dogs running toward me. I looked down and saw my chihuahua, so I immediately knew what they were going for," she added. " I just started screaming for help, but there was nobody around, and I just remember thinking, like, ‘I’m probably going to die.’"

The building is easy to get lost in.
Alaska's new training hub spans 670,000 square feet, housing classrooms, mock airport gates, check-in counters, emergency training rooms, flight simulators, and uniform fitting areas. About 60,000 square feet remains undeveloped, leaving room for future expansion.
The airline said it invested $200 million in the facility, which is designed to train Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines employees as the combined carrier pursues an ambitious expansion through 2030.

Christopher Leahy, 31, is charged with murder in the death of 19-year-old Juniper Blessing, a transgender UW student who was found dead in the laundry room of an off-campus apartment complex in May.
King County prosecutors allege Leahy stabbed Blessing more than 40 times.
At a hearing Monday in King County Superior Court, Judge Joe Campagna ordered Leahy to undergo competency restoration treatment at Western State Hospital after medical experts determined he is not competent to stand trial and cannot currently assist in his own defense.
