- The search for the man accused of carrying out a shooting spree across Kansas City ended where it began: inside the burned Independence home investigators had searched multiple times.
Kansas City police said family members of 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz returned to the home Wednesday to begin cleaning up after last week's fire when they noticed a strong odor coming from the basement.
They discovered a body and immediately contacted detectives.
