Teen Heading To Church Detained By ICE
Bonham Exchange Forced To Close
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones warns budget cuts could be deeper than expected. After talking to the city manager, Jones told the crowd at a town hall meeting last night budget cuts are going to more severe than anticipated to reduce the $158 million deficit. City council will get its first look at the proposed city budget August 13.
A San Antonio teen was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while heading to church. The number of children at the ICE detention center in Dilley is up. And a congressman says it's because of another surge in ICE raids across the country. Joaquin Castro says there are 112 children at that trailer complex, with a total population of 539. That's up from 400 two months ago.
The flooding in Kerr County this month caused much more widespread destruction to homes and businesses than last year's deadly flooding. But this time, with much less publicity, they're getting much less help. FEMA has yet to approve any help for individuals or businesses. Mayor Jones says she wants to put the future of San Antonio's Ready to Work program before voters this November. But that idea is controversial, and the council would have to sign off within two weeks.

Miller says if the governor has truly changed his position and as he says is concerned about data centers' use of water and power, then he needs to return the cash and call for a special session on data centers.
