- Zoo Boise is once again inviting people to climb up onto a platform to feed their two giraffes, Jabari (16 years old) and Tafari (10 years old), leaves of romaine lettuce.
"Our giraffe encounter is very popular amongst our visitors and our giraffes," said Melissa Wade, Zoo Boise's general curator. "We're not exploiting these guys, trust me, they love it."
Wade said the giraffes enjoy interacting with people, and of course, the opportunity to snack on some extra greens.
"We never force them to come over. The way we designed our exhibit, the giraffes have a choice to take part in the feeding. If they want to walk away, it's totally up to them."
And during the two-hour encounter period, doubling the timeframe of previous years, the giraffes do occasionally wander off and ignore offerings. However, the people holding these leaves still enjoy the experience of getting so "close and personal" to the gentle giants.

- President Donald Trump had lunch delivered right to the Oval Office's doorstep on Monday afternoon.
Trump was greeted at the door of the Oval Office by a woman wearing a shirt that said "DoorDash Grandma," carrying two bags of McDonald's.
"I have a DoorDash order for you, Mr. President," Sharon Simmons said, handing the bags to Trump.
This doesn't look staged, does it?" Trump joked, showing off the order to the media gathered outside the Oval Office.
The president said he had the delivery made because he learned that Simmons had picked up an extra $11,000 under the No Tax on Tips policy passed as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Simmons, a Dasher from Arkansas who's made over 14,000 deliveries, made the delivery to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in honor of the policy's first anniversary.
