Incidents of domestic violence in England spike significantly during major football tournaments whenever the national team plays.
Here on the Rock, the number of reported incidents of domestic violence involving drugs or alcohol has doubled since the World Cup began.
Detective Constable Jordan Recagno told Gibraltar Today late fixtures may be lowering the number of incidents, as opposed to midday matches which typically see an increase.

- The Government has released images of the medium to long-term plans for the frontier area.
As works towards the demolition of the frontier fence begin, it has highlighted the security measures in place.
On wednesday afternoon the Chief Minister met with La Linea Mayor Juan Franco.
There's almost two weeks for the target date of implementation- and the frontier is seeing a radical change.
Some have expressed concerns on security and the building of the La Linea fair has perhaps added to these.
Many have been asking what will happen after the 15th and what the changes will look like- GBC and Chronicle Editors were today shown round the area. They were shown the enforced fence that will protect installations and which will be closed nightly.
The area by the loop is the only area that won't be fenced off so other security measures will be in place.

In response to GBC questions, it says the plume is caused by material deposited to construct the breakwater, describing it as “silt” which it says is “not contaminated”.
It says there is no contamination with bacteria and that the water is safe for bathing.

Tokenised securities are traditional financial assets, such as shares or bonds, that are represented digitally on a blockchain, allowing them to be traded more efficiently.
Bullish CEO Tom Farley said no major exchange currently offers tokenised securities at scale. Speaking at a digital assets event on the Sunborn, he told Katy Docker the company could have launched the service anywhere, but chose Gibraltar because of its innovative yet well-regulated framework.
He added that Gibraltar's standing in the international financial sector has grown since it was removed from the FATF grey List.
Bullish was listed on the New York Stock Exchange last year.

- The Government has ordered a report and an independent investigation after today’s power outage, which it says was caused by a major earth fault in the Ocean Village area affecting the power station.
The power outage came, ironically, as the Minister for public utilities was due to answer questions in Parliament about power.
Instead the afternoon session began with a statement by Gemma Arias-Vasquez, who described the repeated outages as "entirely unacceptable" and said the latest incident was unrelated to previous failures.
She said meetings had already taken place with the LNG supply company and the Gibraltar Electricity Authority, with a wider meeting scheduled next week.
A comprehensive report has been requested by Monday, while a third-party investigation is expected to begin in July.
