Speaking on the National Day stage in his inaugural visit to the Rock, Lord Wood of Anfield said regarding Gibraltar, he will maintain the same principle that guided the treaty: "nothing about you without you".

- A technical problem with Britain’s air traffic control system lead to widespread disruption today, including this afternoon's British Airways service from Gibraltar to London.
GBC understands passengers have now been told their flight has been cancelled.
Hundreds of flights have been cancelled or delayed across the UK, with Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted among the airports affected.
The UK's National Air Traffice Control Provider, NATS, says the problem was identified in its flight-processing system. A fix has now been implemented, although disruption is continuing as operations recover.
Locally, the British Airways service was set to leave Gibraltar just before 3pm, but is still on the runway this evening.
The Government told GBC the delays stem from an air traffic control issue in Heathrow and stressed that Gibraltar’s own air traffic operations are unaffected.

- A 19-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting illegal immigration following an incident at sea involving the Royal Gibraltar Police, Customs and the Guardia Civil.
Two Spanish-registered vessels, each crewed by two people, had been pursued by Spanish authorities into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters over their alleged involvement in illicit migrant smuggling activities.
At around 6pm, police received information from a member of the public that a Guardia Civil vessel was towing a boat which had been abandoned within Gibraltar Harbour waters after its occupants jumped ashore near Peter Isola Promenade.
RGP land and marine units responded, with officers recovering the vessel from the Guardia Civil within BGTW.
Police subsequently arrested a 19-year-old local man on suspicion of assisting illegal immigration. He and the seized vessel remain in police custody.
