- The November matchup for Louisville mayor appears to be set, with incumbent Mayor Craig Greenberg and Metro Councilwoman Shameka Parrish-Wright advancing from the May 19 primary, according to the Associated Press and the New York Times.
According to the AP, Greenberg had 51.7% of the vote as of 9:21 p.m., with 62% of votes counted. Parrish-Wright had 27.7% of the votes, according to the outlet. The results are not official.
In a Facebook post, Greenberg wrote, "Let’s go, Louisville! Thank you! On to November."

- U.S. Rep. Andy Barr has won the 2026 Republican primary for U.S. Senate, putting the longtime Lexington congressman in the driver’s seat to succeed retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell.
The race was called in Barr’s favor just after 7 p.m. by the Associated Press and NBC News. With 93% of the vote counted as of 10 p.m., the congressman had just over 60% of the vote.
Barr will move on to face Democratic nominee Charles Booker, a progressive former state representative from Louisville and the party's nominee in an unsuccessful 2022 run against Sen. Rand Paul, in the Nov. 3 general election.
