The letter says: "Your assistance and cooperation are requested regarding the following: Landscaping-Dead Tree- The deceased tree(s) on your property is in need of attention."
Residents say the trees are on the easement, the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street, and the trees were killed during a cold snap.
Because the dead trees are on the easement, some residents say it should be the HOA's job to replace them at the HOA's expense, not the homeowners.

According to an FDLE investigative affidavit, 41-year-old Trooper Alain Fernandez knowingly shared confidential criminal justice information at least 22 times between 2022 and 2025.
Investigators say the information was obtained through restricted systems including FCIC, NCIC, and Florida's DAVID database. The affidavit says Fernandez used the information for personal reasons, parody or to make disparaging comments about people — rather than for legitimate law-enforcement purposes.
FDLE investigators say Fernandez was trained and certified to use the databases and knew unauthorized searches and sharing were prohibited.

- A proposed luxury waterfront development in Fort Pierce is drawing renewed attention after city commissioners approved a motion to explore hiring outside legal counsel to review whether the city has any options to challenge the project under Florida's Live Local Act.
The Sept. 14 vote comes as cities across Florida continue testing the limits of the state's Live Local Act and lawmakers implement the latest round of changes to the law.
The proposed Causeway Cove development on South Hutchinson Island has become one of the Treasure Coast's most closely watched growth disputes, putting residents and local officials at odds with a state law that limits how much control cities have over certain housing projects.
At its Sept. 14 meeting, the commission approved a motion to explore hiring an outside land-use attorney to determine whether Fort Pierce has any legal grounds to challenge the project under the Live Local Act. The city is also monitoring lawsu...

- Description
- A South Florida Republican is publicly breaking with the president over immigration enforcement, warning him in a new campaign ad that some of his efforts “have gone too far.”
Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., also tells President Donald Trump in the ad that Hispanic voters who helped elect him in 2024 “feel betrayed today.” Salazar represents Florida’s 27th Congressional District, which is about 74% Hispanic.
“In July, 50% of the 50,000 people that were detained had no criminal record,” Salazar says in the ad. She then warns Trump to “be careful what your advisers are telling you about immigration policy.”
Salazar says she is not calling for amnesty, but instead a “dignified life” for immigrants.
She had previously pushed for changes to the immigration system and is a co-sponsor of the bipartisan Dignity Act, which would create a pathway to legal status for certain undocumented immigrants who have been in the ...
