- There has been a public outcry after Weston-super-Mare was voted among the worst seaside towns in the UK.
It was the second-least popular location on the list by Which? consumer watchdog, prompting locals to clash on social media, citing the pros and cons of the coastal resort.
Over 4,000 people were surveyed about their recent trips to seaside towns and resorts and ratings were based on beaches, attractions, value for money, peace and quiet, and scenery.
While Bamburgh, Northumberland bagged the top spot, Somerset’s most famous resort missed the mark and Skegness in Lincolnshire came bottom of the table.
Weston-super-Mare scored an average customer rating of just 55 per cent, with one-star ratings for scenery and value for money.
Visitor ratings for beaches, attractions and peace and quiet were two stars, and the average hotel price was listed as £72 per night.

- Police have shared a harrowing video showing the moment Gareeca Gordon was arrested as officers found a dismembered body in two suitcases.
Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary made the grim discovery after responding to reports of a suspicious car in the Coleford area on the evening of May 12.
The man in the car was spoken to as officers had checked the registration details and determined it was registered to a house in Wolverhampton.
Gordon, 28, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 23 and a half years today (4 May) after stabbing Phoenix four times at a Birmingham refuge where they both lived on April 16 last year.
A hearing at Bristol Crown Court was told that the university graduate told Gordon she wanted to move back to London before the knife attack.
