The event to mark the one-year anniversary of his murder is being held at College Green in the city centre from 6.30pm.
Mr Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes on May 25 last year.
A nine-minute silence will take place from 8pm.
Speakers confirmed include Cleo Lake - the Green candidate at the PCC elections earlier this month - and members of Bristol Copwatch, a police monitoring organisation.

US-based graffiti artist and designer KAWS, who is known for his toys, paintings, and prints, decided to recreate one of their iconic works into a gigantic 42-metre hot-air balloon and travel it across the globe.
So of course, they started the tour in Bristol, in what the artist described as the world's 'hot-air balloon capital.'

Last week, squatters at 40 High Street, next to the entrance to St Nicholas Market, were told by the courts to vacate the council-owned property by the end of the month.
And now huge pro-Palestine banners have been unfurled at 45 High Street, but it is not clear at this stage whether the property has been taken over by the same group of people or not.
However, a video being shared on social media appears to show the occupiers of 40 High Street moving their belongings to the second property.

The group living at Wales & West Utilities' land on Glenfrome Road were given a 24-hour eviction notice at 12pm on Tuesday, May 18, but they are asking the company for more time.
In a statement, the travellers — who have around 60 caravans and vehicles in the camp — said: "We do not want to be left with no choice but to resist."
It comes after a group of travellers resisted eviction from the same site on June 13 last year, leading to four arrests. The camp moved on at a later date, but a few weeks ago, the former gasworks again became home to a group of travellers.

Alec Butt used a hammer to brutally attack his ex-wife on Saturday, December 28 in 2019. For more than a year he lied and protested he was innocent.
Anna has waived her right to anonymity to share this 999 call on the day he was jailed at Bristol Crown Court. Thankfully she has recovered from her physical injuries.

Around 500 people marched through the city on Saturday (May 15) to show their solidarity with the people of Palestine.
The £8,000 covering - which was installed shortly before the venue launched on April 12 - was also marked with three penis drawings, while the chalkboard menu had 'free Palestine' scrawled onto it.
Simon Bartlett, MD of Bristol Beer Factory, which operates the harbourside bar, said: "We've put a huge amount of time and money into the venue, so I was incredibly disappointed to find it had been vandalised during the protest.

But 18 month old Janja, a collie cross, is no normal dog.

Janja, currently living with foster carers Julia and Glen in Gloucester, was born on the streets of Croatia and, at just a few weeks old, was found abandoned and seriously traumatised, on a rubbish dump.

Fast-rising actors Erin Doherty and Brandon Micheal Hall could be seen having an "intimate conversation" at the popular city centre brunch spot with the cameras pointed at them, said a Bristol Live photographer at the scene.
Hall could then be seen leaving the restaurant as Doherty stayed at the table and looked upset, he added.
Doherty rose to fame following her portrayal of a young Princess Anne in hit Netflix series The Crown, while Hall is known for his role in HBO dark comedy Search Party.

- Marvin Reese has been elected for a second term as Mayor of Bristol after winning the race for the position at the weekend.
After two rounds of counting he beat Green Candidate Sandy Hore-Ruthven by 13,613 votes.
Mr Rees retained his position of city mayor for Labour as did London Mayor Sadiq Khan, but the party performed poorly elsewhere following Thursday's elections, losing the Hartlepool parliamentary by-election and many council seats.
Mr Rees cautioned against a snap reading from the rise in Green votes in Bristol since 2016, pointing out that last time round many people voted for Independent George Ferguson - who was not standing this time.

Thankfully there are plenty of great pubs across Bristol that will be operating on a first come, first-served basis and not taking bookings when they reopen from April 12, allowing us to leave our decisions to the last minute.
Remember however that many of the boozers below are likely to be very busy with so many people keen to enjoy their first post-lockdown pints, so it's worth arriving early and being prepared to wait for a table, especially at peak times.

Around 50 ACORN Bristol members paid a visit to Conservative MP Chris Skidmore’s office in Hanham to "let our feelings be heard about his support for ‘the bill’."
In a post on Facebook, the ACORN Bristol group said: "The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts bill seriously threatens our right to protest, our free speech and our ability to win better lives.
"Skidmore has spoken out in favour of the bill, saying "The police are a cornerstone of our law and democracy,” and voted for its second reading.
The bill threatens to criminalise being ‘annoying’ so we decided to annoy Chris Skidmore by posting some statements through his letterbox, about what protest has won us.

The tour of shows off the 'Best of Bristol' and unsurprisingly there was very little traffic or general public visible, especially as most was filmed very early or late in the day.
David said: "There are 23 clips relating to 23 locations, landmarks or features so I suspect you will recognise most but see how many you can name from the eye in the sky."

- Distressing footage shows the moment police unearthed an illegal prostitution and human trafficking ring in Bristol.
The operation was discovered after an Avon and Somerset roads policing officer stopped the suspects on Broad Weir in the early hours of July 28 last year, suspecting they were driving without insurance.
Marin Grigore, 27, his brother-in-law Alexandru Dita, 30, wife Mirela Mincu, 32, and sister Adriana Dita, 26, were all arrested in July last year.
All four entered guilty pleas to various offences at Bristol Crown Court earlier this year and were sentenced at the same court on Thursday (May 6).
Grigore, Alexandru Dita and Mincu received sentences of between 21 and 24 months in jail, whilst Adriana Dita was given a 12-month community order requiring her to do 50 hours of unpaid work for using and/or possessing criminal property.

- Organisers of Bristol International Balloon Fiesta have shared their plans for the 2021 edition of the historic event.
Last year's spectacle was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, although there was an early morning 'Fiesta Flypast' to enjoy, as well as a live-streamed Virtual Nightglow.
However, fans will be delighted to hear there are plans this year to stage an event "as closely aligned to the Fiesta and its values as possible," say organisers in a statement.
They say they are working on a "variety of options for the event," which is due to take place between August 12-15, depending on the success of the roadmap to exit lockdown.
