There is also a gender gap, with 1/3 women in London saying they spend more than 50% of their salary on rent, compared with 1/4 men.
This results in young professionals like Jenna and David trying to find alternatives to meet their daily costs.

Lying on the pebbles and rocks of the riverbed at low tide was a human femur, or upper leg bone.
Carbon dating has since indicated it to be more than 5,000 years old, meaning it had come from someone who lived in the late British Neolithic period - the end of the Stone Age.
Experts say it is dated between 3516 and 3365 BC and belonged to a person who was about 5ft 7in (170cm) tall, but it's not been possible to tell if they were male or female.

- Description
- As part of National Apprenticeship Week, three Metropolitan Police constable degree apprentices have spoken to BBC London about their experience in the service.
PC George Zealey was a blind-fitter, but the 23-year-old is now fighting crime across west London after joining the Met. Former restaurant manager, PC Courtney Thompson, 24, says the force should be reflective of the communities it serves. And former semi-pro rugby player PC Victory Anyaoha, 24, wants to progress into armed response.
After police watchdog the IOPC published a report last week saying it had discovered "disgraceful" misogyny, discrimination, bullying and sexual harassment among some PCs in the Met, what do new recruits think of the force’s culture and whether they are part of change?

- Description
- The Covid pandemic put unprecedented pressure on healthcare. At its height, the London Ambulance Service took 8,000 calls in 24 hours, 40% more than a typical busy day.
One tactic to help cope with demand is the increasing deployment of advanced paramedic practitioners. With extra training and access to more kit, they aim to treat more people on the scene or at home instead of at hospital.

General medicine consultant Dr Harmandeep Singh said the vaccine played a large part in protecting people who would otherwise be vulnerable. One of his patients recovering from a leg infection had coronavirus, but was asymptomatic.
However as restrictions are eased, concerns were raised about the impact of possible future virus variants.
