Her loneliness caused her to give up her studies at Goldsmiths University in London and forced her to move back to where she grew up in Lincolnshire.
There have been a number of studies that indicate loneliness could be hereditary and may run in families.

- Why ventilators can be both life-saving and dangerous - BBC London
- Runtime
- 2:47
- Date posted
- Description
- A revolutionary new device is being trialled to tailor ventilators to each intensive care patient.
It comes after the discovery that ventilators can be both life-saving and dangerous.
The system will work by placing a black box next to the patient's bedside which will collect data from the patient. The device will use algorithms to identify the patient's breathing pattern and lung capacity.
This is currently being trialled by Imperial College London and Royal Brompton Hospital, but if successful, it could prove to be the future of critical care medicine, say the researchers behind the device.
It will allow doctors and nurses to work with the data collected to better understand how to treat the patient and individualise their ventilator oxygen levels and pressure.

- Revenge Porn: ‘I’m sorry to my children’ - BBC London
- Runtime
- 3:34
- Date posted
- Description
- Kate started #NotYourPorn when a Revenge Porn video was uploaded to Porn Hub of her friend, without her friend’s consent.
Since then Kate has discovered that women across the country are also suffering from non-consensual revenge porn being hosted on the site.
Sophie is just one lady who contacted Kate for help. Sophie asked Pornhub to take her videos down in April 2018 but she still believes they’re still on the site today and has proof of her videos still being there in August 2019.
Now Kate is pushing for a change in the revenge porn law so that websites hosting such content can be held accountable. As the law currently stands, it is not illegal to host non-consensual revenge porn on platforms.
Kate is working with her local MP in Tooting to change this and is calling for the public to take action so that no other victim has to go through what Sophie has.
