- Description
- In early January 2011, Piano Technician Allan Day replaced all of the wires inside Vermont Public Radio's 1970-vintage Yamaha C7 performance studio piano. The process was completed on January 14th. Over the next month and a half the piano underwent a series of six tunings to get it back into performance condition. Cheryl Willoughby took this video on March 3, 2011 as Joe Goetz gave the newly restored and tuned piano a test run with Beethoven (opening of the 'Moonlight' Sonata) and Schubert (Impromptu Op. 90/#1). It sounds great - "like a whole new instrument"!
