- For Arts in Parliament, members of the public were asked to contribute lines of poetry, lyrics or just words about democratic engagement and what it means to live in the UK in 2012. Poet and performer Inua Ellams brought together these responses to create a poem which was then made into this film. The film was shown during Arts in Parliament in August 2012.
This was a partnership project between Arts in Parliament, Apples & Snakes and Inua Ellams.

Chaired by the Lord Speaker, the debate in the Lords Chamber was the flagship event for the leadership and community day of Shine Week, the Department for Children, Schools and Families' national youth festival celebrating young people's talents.
This was the third youth event in the House of Lords Chamber and builds on the success of the English Speaking Union debating finals in 2007 and 2008's UK Youth Parliament debates.

- From 31 July 2009, the judicial function of the House of Lords and its role as the final - and highest - appeal court in the UK will end, bringing about a fundamental change to the work and role of the House of Lords.
A new United Kingdom Supreme Court, separating the judicial function from Parliament (those who make the law from those who interpret it in courts), will open in early October 2009 opposite the Houses of Parliament in Parliament Square - formerly the Middlesex Guildhall.
Lord Mance, one of the 12 Law Lords in the House of Lords, outlines the key changes to the judicial role of Parliament.

- The Great Clock is wound three times a week. First, the auto-winding mechanism is set. This winds the striking train and the chiming train. Then the winding handle is attached to the going train. This part of the mechanism must be wound by hand. When the winding handle is operated, 'maintaining power' is activated. This keeps the Great Clock going while winding takes place. Oiling the mechanism is part of the clock's regular maintenance to keep all its parts in working order.
