Luckily no-one was injured in the accident at a construction site on Reggie Miller Street was reported at around 9.30am.
Footage obtained by Times of Malta shows the moment the scaffolding came crashing down, missing at least one car by milliseconds.

- For Raniero Borg, finding man-made objects on the seafloor is not an unusual occurrence. The diver often posts videos on his popular Facebook page showing items ranging from dumped car tyres to lost personal possessions like keys and wallets.
During a dive in Marsamxett Harbour last week, Borg spotted something glinting in the sunlight. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the screen of a GoPro, the rest of which was covered in seaweed.
“I took it home and cleaned it up in the hope I could access the footage and track down the owner,” Borg said.

- Enforcement action against illegal ticket booths on the Sliema promenade has been quietly put on hold after the council reached an agreement with operators.
Last month, Sliema council said it was moving against the booths on the popular promenade. It posted photos of community police officers attaching notices ordering operators to leave the promenade by April 16. Sources say none of the booths along the promenade are currently licensed.
But when Times of Malta visited the area, the booths were still in place and sellers were doing brisk business in tickets for boat parties and cruises to Comino’s Blue Lagoon.

- A diver who has spent years recovering wrecked cars from the sea at Ċirkewwa has renewed his call for warning signs at the South Quay, saying it becomes dangerous when seas turn rough.
Raniero Borg, who has been scuba diving around the islands for 40 years, told Times of Malta that the sea around the Ċirkewwa spot where 13-year-old Oliwia Wojnowska died last month is notorious for battering the quay mercilessly during storms, often swallowing cars into the waves.
“That is how dangerous it gets down here. The swell is strong enough to swallow cars, let alone people,” he said.
