The disclosure by the Home Office came as officials also released footage of police officers using Pava spray to disperse migrants trying to launch their boat from the beach, before deflating the dinghy by slashing it with a knife.
The footage showed officers being attacked by the migrants, who threw sand and rocks at them while trying, unsuccessfully, to launch the dinghy from the beach.

This, however, would be distance hitting with a difference. The two batsmen preparing out in the middle are guinea pigs for the next few minutes. They are about to prove whether modern, bigger, thicker bats truly make a difference.
For the sake of an experiment years in the planning, I hand them a bat made a few weeks ago but not to modern specifications. Instead it is an exact replica of the one used in 1902 by Gilbert Jessop to score England’s fastest Test century from 76 balls, a target the Bazballers burnt themselves out trying and failing to beat.

Greater Manchester Police said emergency services responded to an incident at a property in Reservoir Street, Salford over the course of two days.
Footage released by the force showed officers from the tactical aid unit resting a ladder against the roof of a back porch, with one then grabbing the man while he was sleeping on Saturday afternoon.
Greater Manchester Police said the man, 37, was wanted over a recall to prison on other matters.
He was held on suspicion of causing public nuisance, criminal damage, public order offences, burglary and assaulting two police officers. He remains in police custody.

Despite the rise of Bazball and the reign of Ben Stokes, this record still holds today. The England test team will have another chance to break it during the upcoming Test series against Pakistan.
But, would one of these modern players be able to achieve what Jessop did, with the tools he did it with?
