- 45 worshippers have been killed when their bus went out of control, fell over a bridge and caught fire on the mountain pass between Mokopane and Marken in Limpopo. A minor girl, eight-year-old, has been seriously injured. She has been airlifted to a hospital. The pilgrims were travelling from Gaborone, Botswana, to Moria outside Polokwane. Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga went to the crash site. Chikunga has expressed her sadness.

Transport minister Sindisiwe Chikunga has launched the 2024 Easter Road Safety Campaign with the aim to clamp down on abuse on the roads.
Road fatalities cost the economy around R200-billion annually, according to the Road Traffic Management Corporation.
Releasing the 2023/24 festive season road traffic statistics, Minister Chikunga said annual road fatalities have been continuously declining from 2018 to 2022.The number of annual road deaths in the five-year period have decreased from 12 921 to 12 436.

- The Durban High Court yesterday heard arguments from the ANC and the uMkhonto weSizwe Party legal representatives over the use of the name uMkhonto weSizwe and the logo. The ANC says it is a matter of public interest that any voter confusion caused by the unauthorised use of intellectual property should be clarified before the elections take place.
Addressing MK Party supporters outside the Durban High Court, former ANC president Jacob Zuma said the ANC should not cry foul as it is the governing party that decided to do away with uMkhonto weSizwe.
Judgment in this case has been reserved. On Tuesday, the MK won the first of the two court battles between the parties when the Electoral Court dismissed the ANC's application to have the MK Party deregistered.
