- Description
- In a sit-down interview with The New Times, the artiste and creator spoke about his journey and how he prefers to call himself a “hip-hop icon” rather than a “legend,” as many refer to him.
“I don’t like to say ‘legend’—that sounds too old—but I’ve been in the game a long time. I’m from Brooklyn, New York. That’s where it all started,” he says, sharing a bit of his background and a career that has spanned decades.
Back in the U.S., Dana Dane, real name Dana McCleese, is a household name. He grew up in the same neighbourhood as legendary hip-hop icons like Slick Rick and many others whose names still ring big bells in the music industry today.
“We went to high school together—LaGuardia,” Dane says, referring to the famous performing arts school where he started his career doing hip-hop and graffiti art.

- Description
- As the sacred journey of Hajj 2025 approaches, Rwanda’s Muslim community is poised for a transformative pilgrimage experience – thanks to strategic collaborations and meticulous planning.
Central to this enhanced preparation is the partnership between the Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC) and RwandAir, the nation’s flag carrier.
This alliance has addressed longstanding logistical challenges, ensuring a more seamless and spiritually fulfilling journey for Rwandan pilgrims.
Historically, Rwandan pilgrims faced arduous travel routes to Mecca, often involving multiple layovers in cities like Nairobi, Addis Ababa, or Dubai. These extended journeys not only tested the pilgrims’ endurance but also posed logistical complications.
Recognising these challenges, the RMC, under the leadership of Mufti Sheikh Musa Sindayigaya, initiated discussions with RwandAir to establish direct flights to Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, the name Nyirangarama, a popular refreshment stop on the Kigali-Musanze-Rubavu road, is synonymous with Sina Gerard so much that many people who stop there to grab a bite or drink do not know the actual name of the area.
Located in the rolling hills of Tare, in Bushoke Sector, Rulindo district, Nyirangarama is a town literally built on one man, Sina Gerard, the founder of Entreprise Urwibutso, which manufactures a wide range of products popular on the Rwandan market and beyond.

- Description
- As long as the genocidal FDLR remains in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), enjoying full government support, there will never be peace in the Great Lakes Region.
This is according to Straton Musoni, one of the co-founders and former vice president of the terrorist militia, which was created in the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi after the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) defeated the forces of the genocidal government, pushing them out of the country into what was then Zaire.
It was then that the defeated forces convened in what later became DR Congo to carry on with their genocide ideology agenda, enjoying full government support from the host country, starting with the regime of Laurent-Désiré Kabila and transitioning through other governments that followed, including the current one led by Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.
This, according to Musoni, will forever continue to be a thorn in the efforts to find peace in the Great Lakes Re...

However, due to other commitments, job preoccupations, and for women, marriage and motherhood, the business dream is often put on hold. Over time, many people either feel it’s too late to start or simply lose interest.
Studies show that it’s never too late to start a business, as long as the entrepreneurial spirit remains alive.
In fact, some of the world's most successful billionaires made their breakthroughs after the age of 50. Their first step toward success was refusing to give up on their dreams.
In today’s world, where stories of young innovators and 30-year-old billionaires are common—it’s easy to feel discouraged and stick to employment instead of pursuing a business.
Similarly, as people approach retirement age, they often think about slowing down rather than embarking on something new.
