The National Electoral Commission (NEC) received his file at around 10:30am on Friday, May 17.
The President was accompanied, at the electoral body's head office, in Kiyovu, Nyarugenge District, by First Lady Jeannette Kagame, RPF-Inkotanyi's Secretary-General Wellars Gasamagera, and other senior party officials.

The Head of State was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Africa CEO forum, where he joined more than 2,000 delegates including visiting Heads of State, leaders of international institutions, captains of industry, and investors for the two-day forum underway in Kigali.
“The more united Africa is, the more productive our engagement with partners will become. Integration, for Africa’s business community, is an opportunity to grow our markets, and become more competitive. Africa does not have to ask for a seat at the table,” Kagame said.

Located next to Believers Eastern Church in Busanza, Kicukiro District, the first phase, consisting of a 220-bed hospital and a medical college, is set to be completed in 15 months, with the facility expected to officially open at the end of 2025, or at most early 2026.

Born in the Nkanka sector of Rusizi District, Nduwamungu witnessed the massacre of many of his family members. He saw his mother, younger brother, sister, and other relatives killed in broad daylight. At six, his survival instincts saw him through miraculously.
