The pair unpack the strategic dilemmas facing Labour, from internal tensions to campaign positioning, and whether Burnham represents a genuine shift or more of the same.
With the Greens confirming they’ll stand a candidate, will the left vote be split, and could that inadvertently hand victory to Reform UK? Figures like Caroline Lucas have already warned against prioritising party politics over the bigger picture.

He took time out of his busy schedule to speak to us about the deepening crisis in free speech across the globe, that has stemmed from public opposition to Western complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
In a wide-ranging conversation, Professor Finkelstein breaks down a lifetime of work on the Israel-Palestine conflict. He also spells out the ever-complex shifts in the American and global right, and how these shifts make for a dark future, as allegiances fray in the American podcast space when it comes to support for Israel.
Finkelstein details the underlying antisemitism in society and how it is deepened by the crackdown on freedom of expression. Finally, Professor Finkelstein lifts the lid on his first steps in the world of academic research, and how his humble beginnings informed his passion and drive for the truth in ever...

- Last summer, the Bell Hotel in Epping became the epicentre of Britain's immigration debate.
Thousands of people protested outside the hotel, which the Government uses to house asylum seekers, following the arrest of one of its residents.
Reform UK MPs supported the protesters, even after violence broke out.
As the number of protests swelled, Farage vowed "mass deportations" of illegal immigrants if his party wins the next general election.
And, in the days before this month’s local elections, the party announced a new policy: closing asylum hotels and opening detention centres in constituencies with Green MPs.
On May 7, 2 in 5 voters in Epping cast their ballot for Reform and the party gained 11 seats on the District Council - while Reform won control of the upper-tier Essex County Council.
Over the following weekend, the St Georges Cross and Union Jack re-appeared on lampposts.

This supercut sees the trio of MPs reflect on Starmer’s leadership trajectory and the shift away from the Left, the local elections in England and in Scotland, as well as Labour's current unpopularity.
The three also dive into the potential roles of Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham, two figures tipped as future leadership contenders. Will Streeting mount a serious bid, or "bottle it", as Lavery suggests? And would Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham return to Westminster politics? If so, how?

Labour’s Renters’ Rights Act has come into effect. It bans Section 21 no-fault evictions and bidding wars on prospective rentals. Tenants are no longer tied into fixed-term contracts and can challenge their rent increase if it’s above market rate.
Many welcome it as a win for renters, but others claim it may only deepen the housing crisis.
And, ahead of local elections, both Labour and the Green Party are fighting for voters over the issue.
The Greens are expected to win historically safe Labour seats in urban areas, like Hackney, where the average rent for a one bed flat is £1,954. They’re promising things like rent controls - which Labour’s Housing Secretary Steve Reed has definitely ruled out.
Meanwhile Labour are hoping to claw back votes from the Green by lambasting their previous record on housing.
